RSH - That's a tough call - I just went through the same kind of decision, starting out looking at a
B7610. The difference is that I was not much interested in mowing with it, and was getting a FEL & BH, so the light weight of the Kubota & the ladder frame scared me off. The Kubota
B7800 has what they call a "double frame", basically a reinforced frame, but you don't get that on a
B7610. The Kioti is built in a more traditional tractor style with the gear cases forming the structure. As was pointed out, a CK20HST weighs over 600lbs more than a
B7610. You'll have to decide if that is good or bad for your use.
You also don't get an absolute position control on the 3PH on the
B7610, it has that "quarter inching valve", which is a relative up or down control. You have to go to the B2xxx to get a better heigth control (which the CK20 has).
The CK20HST has a treadle-style peddle, while the Kub has more separated forward and reverse peddles.
The
B7610 has more power and bigger wheels. You will find the fender grab handle on the Kubota to feel cheesy, as the whole fender flexes when you pull on it (small thing, but it bugged me). I can't comment on the absolute price, as I was shopping different euipment, but the price difference is close - I was looking at about $1500 less for the CK20HST.
I had already decided on the CK20HST when my dealer showed me a Kioti LK3054 - for the same price as the
B7610. It has a shuttle shift & is much bigger - it doesn't have a mid PTO, but you may not need it. It was no contest - I bought it!
There is no doubt that the Kubota
B7610 is a nice machine - I would say the biggest difference in the tractors is the weight. if you feel that you want to keep the weight down to reduce impact on lawns, then the Kubota may be the way to go. Otherwise, you'll get more with a Kioti.
