Kioti Quality

I own a Kubota. My brother-in-law has a larger Kioti and has been happy with it although he has had some mechanical problems with it.

I doubt I would buy Kioti because around here there aren't many dealers and many folks never heard of them. That translates into low resale values. This is not a fact that I have researched at all, just what I suspect.

I've seen just a couple of Kioti tractors sell at a local tractor auction. They didn't bring much at all. I don't remember which models or the price, but I do remember saying to myself, "Ouch!"

There are some machines to be concerned about. We sold the Cub Cadet branded Kioti's at one point and stopped selling them because of mechanical problems and poor parts support. That was the DK series machines, it does seem that the CK's are doing better. Cub Cadet has since severed that relationship and is now working with Yanmar.

You should specify Neil that you are referring to an older range of DK like tractors not the current models. Additionally, "poor parts support" appears to be a thing of the past. We haven't heard of any real problems for a long time (except for the KL130 repair kit which is a technical problem).

Cub Cadet also had a problem marketing a line of Mitsubishi built tractors that Mahindra took over and sold tons of.
I see the issue more with Cub Cadet than any of the suppliers.

I have almost 500hrs heavy excavation and landscaping on my CK20HST TLB.
No real problems, just the cracked loader issue, that never slowed me down kept working and just waited for kit to come out. Hour meter stopped working, out of warranty so just installed aftermarket one. Couple of other parts that I broke , no problem getting. And all my filters except engine oil are cheaper from my Kioti dealer.

Originally narrowed my choices down to Mahindra and Kioti, much heavier built than JD,CaseNH, MF, Kubota. No major chassis parts made of aluminum, etc. When doing ground engaging work of any kind weight is critical in getting the power to the ground!!!!! Just note the vast majority of guys on TBN , sooner or later end up adding liquid ballast or iron weights or both. Whats that tell you?

Lastly I've been in sales most of my life and am a sucker for a good salesman and death on jerks like you got. 99% of the time I know thru research more about the products than they do. My favorite revenge on someone like that is to go buy what he knocks and then go back and show him why he lost the sale, point for point.!!

That is correct. The CK's where not around at that point, and you are dealing with another middle man for parts support. Neither are helpful.

From my view, as a Kioti owner, having an additional dealer network(formerly Cub Cadet, now Bobcat) for a parts source, is a good thing. I have to say, I've had no trouble getting parts, but an added comfort factor is there.

I don't think I would bother trying to get parts from a Cub Cadet dealer especially given that they only carried one (discontinued model) line of Kioti built tractors in the past and would therefore likely not stock many parts. Bobcat dealers should be fine for CK parts but it remains to be seen if Bobcat will carry the newer DK line. For my nickel it is easiest to just phone in an order to my favorite dealer and let the UPS man deliver. That gives me the benefit of expert advice and saves hassle, time and gas. The cost of the phone call and UPS ground shipping is generally less than driving even 20 minutes to a local dealer. Saves on carbon emissions too.

We been selling Kioti for 9 years and have a very little problem with parts. If they do not have it in NC we can get it form Korea in 10 to 14 days. Your parts problem was with Cub Cadet. not Kioti. It seem like Cub Cadet do not know who they want to business with. Now I have a Kubota in the shop and it took about 2 Months to get parts for (engine parts).
All Brands have Parts Issures so ease up on Kioti. In 9 years we have a lot of repeat customs so that tells how they like their Kioti Tractors

Hi guys,

I'm new here & was looking at a Kubota B21 used BH FEL from a dealer(just a reseller, not an actual brand dealer). I told him for not much more money & great financing I could get a CK20HST new with a 4 year warranty.

He said I would be sorry because they were a piece of junk & couldn't get parts, blah blah blah.

From what I see here, you all seem to be pretty pleased with them.

My use would be homeowner, & not commercial.

If the B21 is in good shape/low hours, ie 750 or less, that is the machine to get. However if it comes from a rental yard and/or is several years old, not a good deal.

CK20's are not junk and parts are available. I would not trust the guy, based on that, however the B21 is a machine that will run 3000-4000 commercial hours! Before the housing market went south a 2000 hour used B21 still brought over $12000!
