Of the Kioti line of tractors, I am one who does not like the CK25, I personally think it is a weak offering for numerous reasons. I sort of liken it to the old Ford N series/Ferguson TO series tractors, and while those are legendary in what they did for the tractor industry, that is not the parallel I would draw. I think for TODAY'S uses, the old Fords are too heavy for the power they produce, and the same is true for the CK25. The old Ford/Fergusons weigh about 2350# and produce about 26hp, the CK25 produces 25hp but weighs 3000+# without a loader, and over 4000# with a loader/ballast. The PTO power to tractor size is most troubling for my mind, with roughly 20PTO HP available on the CK25, but with a width of roughly 55 inches, the tractor barely has enough power to drive suitable sized implements in
heavy conditions. It could not,
using many manufactuers recommendations, power a tiller wide enough to cover its tracks in heavy soils and run it to full depth. In lush grasses it is adequate for a 60" finish mower but that is a large tractor for such a small mower. On the other hand, it does has a high quality loader that is superior to any other mid-20's HP tractor in terms of capacity, further it will be able to pull a larger box blade than smaller framed/lighter tractor is capable of using. These are my opinions.
Personally, I like the CK30, I think it is a much better machine than the CK25. Both use the same frame, and are essentially clones of each other except the engine.
Now you don't say what TASKS you want to accomplish, and you don't say what tractor you are comparing the CK25 to. So if you are looking to mow a lawn and do modest duty front loader work, I'd be lining up for a
B7610 or the new
B2630 as both are in the same HP range of the CK25, but are smaller/lighter so they will fit into tighter places, turn around landscaping easier and leave less impact. On the other hand, if my main task was to keep a 3/4 mile gravel driveway groomed then the CK would likely be the better choice. There are some who believe that heavy weight is a great asset for small tractors, I am not one of those
if the tractor is going to be used on a small estate type property to maintain the home, garden, lawn, etc. Again, just my opinion. Please figure out what tasks you need to do, please figure out what type of tractor is suitable for your needs. Look at the long term use you will have, not just the initial uses. After you figure out what you need, then you can figure out if the CK is really a good deal for your property.
