kioti v kubota

   / kioti v kubota #11
I've owned both and I'd own both again. My Kubota worked flawless for 8 years. Needed a bigger machine and like DonnyJ, I went with Kioti for the price and small features the Kubota did not offer. 90 hours on the Kioti and it's been great so far.

Don't forget the comfort factor if your gonna be on it alot. Again Kubota and Kioti were the only ones that fit the fat man....... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

From what I have learned over the past several months both of these brands produce very good reliable tractors. I have uncovered no systemic or categoric problem with either brand. Most of the issues come down to dealer base/support and then the small things that each specific tractor design has.

Regarding the CK25 (beware...advice you didn't ask for forthcoming /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), I looked at the Kubota B2630, B3030, BX23, Kioti CK20, CK25, and CK30. My order of preference was CK30, B3030, CK20. Like Bob mentioned I was afraid of the heavy Kioti body with the 25hp engine but I have no proof of its impact (good or bad) on performance. Compare the specs (lifting, PTO HP, etc.) between the models you are comparing and make sure you get the right machine (the CK25/30 body is very nice but a CK20/BX23 might be a better deal depending on what you are going to do with it).

Good luck!

BTW what ARE you going to do with it? What Kubota models are you looking at?

I was looking for a Kubota and found a used Kioti a few months ago, I do not regret my purchase, and I think the Kioti is a very well built tractor.

I would not be concerned with the CK25 being underpowered, we have sold many of the 25's and not a single problem with them not having enough power. Just pick your PTO powered implements accordingly and one will be fine. You will not see a single difference on the way it handle the loader compared to the 25.

I intend to use the tractor for flail mowing, spraying ,harrowing, and general loader work, I may buy a backhoe and stone burier/cultivator [combo] at a later date.

I hope to get some kind of log grab fitted to the loader , though this is seeming to be a lot of hassle and very expensive ,for some reason..or so my local dealer says /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am a new guy to this forum. I have JD H (1947)that I've used for the past 20 years to mow 9 acres of grass. My needs have changed so I'm going to buy either the Kubota L3400 ($23.5k including tax) or a Kioti LK3054 ($19,060. Backhoe and front end loader included in these prices. It will pull a 5-foot Gyramor "bushhog" on 9 acres of grass; remove stumps, grade a gravel driveway, clear driveway ditches, and load compost for my wife's flower gardens.

For these uses, which tractor would you recommend? Also, Ag or Industrial tires?

Thanks for your comments.

I think either machine would handle your intended uses equally well.
The L-3400 is a nice machine and has more HP than the 3054.
On the other hand I much prefer the syncronized main transmission on the 3054.(shift on the go, shuttle in high or low range)) over the 3400's unsyncronized tranny (shuttle in low range only). My opinion !!
Have you driven both machines ?
Which dealer do you like?

Given the price you have on the L3400, I'm guessing that you are comparing an L3400HST not an L3400 gear. I've seen L3400 gear with FELs at much lower prices which is why I'm guessing you are looking at the HST version. Even if your price is for a HST model, the price seems a bit high.

All that said, if I were looking at 2 gear tractors, I would prefer the shuttle shift tractor, so I'd favor the Kioti. The kicker is you are comparing a Kubtoa that has about 12% more horse power so if you are doing tasks which require PTO hp, then I would easily favor the Kubota. Also, if you are doing tasks that favor a HST transmission, then I would again easily favor the Kubota. So I guess it really depends on what you are doing as to which machine I would recommend.

Judging from all the comments on these boards I'd say the tractors are comparable. They might have the same reliability. Kubotas have a long history of reliability, I don't know how many high hour 10 to 20 year old Kiotis are out there to compare to yet.

Yes, I almost forgot the 3400 is availible with hydro.
If your price included hydrostat then disregaurd my point about the differances in the geared transmissions.
The 3054 is availible in gear only.
