Kioti vs. Kubota Field Mowers?

I'm in need of a field mower for my Kubota 2710, and there's a local Kioti dealer that has a decent price available on the RC1048. To compare, I stopped in the Kubota dealer to get a comparable price on a Kubota mower (RCR1248). Kubota guy was more than negative about Kioti. Price was about $400 more for the Kubota. Reading the specs, the come off as very similar.

Any opinions on the Kioti or whether the negative opinion was warranted?

I plan to use the mower on a 15-acre property that has a lot of trees and shrubs to deal with. Blades will absolutely be hitting branches and occasional rocks/dirt along the way.

Imho, A good dealer should place emphasis on his product's features and not trash another dealers products. Ken Sweet

I thought that Kubota "attachments" were Landpride (that they now own). LP is a fairly well known brand, who's making Kioti's mowers?
Not a knock against Kioti at all, it's just a consideration that I would have myself for this purchase.

Last I remember reading many current Kioti attachments might be Woods.
Can't say about that particular model.

Most makes have quite a few different "series" of mowers, stepping up the components & construction for heavier service (along with the cost) for each series. There are a zillion rotary mowers out there new & used, generally find your size and start to compare gearbox HP ratings and the gauge metal used for the "deck" and it's construction in general. Most of them will take a beating, how long they survive is the key, also the key to their cost. Your use sounds like fairly normal "bush hog" work, just keep things lubed (gearbox) and greased along with keeping all the hardware tight, mainly the gearbox to the deck.

The following is a link to the announcement that Kioti was partnering with Woods to offer a line of Kioti branded implements. This is in December of 2016 so I would imagine anything on the lot branded Kioti is Woods. Which is good stuff and I would put it in line with Land pride.

Thanks all for the input. I'll look at the construction of both, and agree Woods is up there with Land Pride in my experience with prior equipment.
