Kioto 3054 steering Shaft Broke

Houston, I have a problem.. Today I went to mow the grass and when backing up to hook up the mower deck I heard a snap and no more steering. After I jumped off the tractor to see what went wrong, my heart sank. It appears this shaft just snapped. It appears that this has been partially broke for a while. Now the big question – Can I just order this part? I looked at the part manual and it didn’t have this part listed. The service manual calls it the “Sector Gear Shaft”. This is for a LK3054 Tractor.

Woodzy, Don't panic. Luckily there are a lot of good dealers on this board, I know from experience, and the parts are usually not priced badly, again I know from experience. I use Depratt equipment but there are a lot of dealers here. Where do you live? fill out your user profile it would help. I looked in my parts manual and they don't have that broken down so you will have to go through a dealer.

Your picture is definately a steering sector shaft. I've replaced several in cars and trucks and you could always get them separately, so I don't see why you couldn't get one from Kioti for the tractor.
Like you said, full failure was just waiting to happen from looking at the picture. Strange it's on both sides and almost even. The shaft must have had a few good hits to fracture like that.
I'm sure one of the dealers here on TBN or maybe the one you deal with can fix you up.
