I have been wanting aerial pics of my property. I got some from a plane fly over - but they were just too far up to get detail I wanted.
Anybody have any experience with this birdseye view of things??

We have a similar deal over here. They use a small airship, like the goodyear blimp I see hanging around all the champ car races.

People use it for advertising, selling houses etc. Looks cool.

Personally I am learning to fly and will one day buzz my place and do the same !!

To get a functioning link posted, and refer to it by title, type in:

except type [ ] brackets instead of the { }. Also, convention usually places url links in blue type:

Thanks for tips and pointers. Part of the problem might have been the host for that web page - that fortune city mess - I think it is hard to link to an individual url, whereas they want you to go through the advertising ?? Anywho, here is a better link.

Last May, on the first day of building my Pole Barn, we noticed a helicopter hovering. Didn't give it much thought because there is a car race track nearby and planes/helicopters occasionally buzz the race track.

About a month ago, a guy drove up and showed me a 14" x 21" copy of the attached photo of my property (lower third of the picture). The Photo he offered for $149, I bought it on CD for $65. Pricey but once my wife saw it, I couldn't turn it down.

The VA/WV state line runs along the tree line at about the upper third of the picture. Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. Summit Point Raceway just barely seen in the top right corner of picture.

Company is called Air Photo based out of Washington State. 1-800-879-6235. I don't know if you can call them up and ask them to come take a picture of your property or if you just have to wait until they get around to it. I have the local (Northern Virginia/WV/MD) rep's card at home if anyone's interested.

Yes, they give aerial views on TerraServer, but the elevation is too high to see much detail compared to the view you can get with a kite.
