Re: Kmart-Sam Walton Rules!

Any more, where isn't the heart of Walmart country? They are just about everywhere. There are five Walmarts within a 30 minute drive from me, as well as 2 Sam's Clubs. None of them were here 8 years ago. All of the small local stores are closed or are closing. I still give the little ones that are left my business, even if it costs a little more.

Re: Kmart-Sam Walton Rules!

Bird,
I did say “Almost always” closed stores are replaced. They are not in every single case. If a store is not profitable it should be closed, as any good business manager/owner would do. There are exceptions when W/M stores do not turn a profit and they should be closed if they can‘t be turned around. I’m not trying to be mean, that is just the economics of business (any business).
When W/M moved into my own small hometown some of the local businesses closed. Now, almost twenty years later, you can hardly tell that any thing closed. The ones that closed were behind the times in customer service and or product selection. The ones that are now open for the most part are customer orientated and have better products as well.
