Knee replacement

I have a hip replacement that is 18 years old yesterday. Everyone I know that had a knee said it hurt bad. I will sware on everything holy that my hip was painless and I was out of bed walking with crutches within hours. Then again I have a very high tolerance for Pain as I drove from gulf shores Alabama to Burton Ohio in 1 yay with the gout attack from hell using my left foot on the pedals

Well, I have had 2 major back surgeries and 3 or 4 injections in the back. I am having a knee replaced soon . . . after many injections.

I hope yours goes better than mine..... It's been a year and a half since my replacement. Still not good.... swells every day to twice the size, still have pain (especially worse when going to bed), numb spots all over the lower leg, and occasional "jolts' (like a bee sting) that happen any time, any position.

I can't walk without a cane, because the knee "buckles" like I have no control. It happens unexpectedly, sometimes 10 times a day, sometimes not...

All the followup visit x-rays show everything in alignment, no signs of infection, no abnormal findings. The orthopedic surgeon is dumbfounded.

Now I have to go to a 'nerve specialist' to see if they can see whats wrong. Thats in another 3 weeks. I has been a real life changing event... not for the better.

Sorry to hear that LS, I have been to a nerve doc. also . . . my leg (the bad one) will buckle quite often also.
