Has anyone purchased or used or seen or heard of a Kodiak box blade. Got a really good deal on a 65" box blade from Agri-Supply for $277.95. It's 416 lbs and has 5 adjustable scarifiers.

I think I've heard the brand mentioned here before. Do a search on the attachments forum and I'm sure you'll get a hit. The price sounds good.

Mark,

I tried the search using Kodiak Box Blade and also searched all posts in the attachments thread and got plenty of hits. I'll attach the url it generated and perhaps this woll work for you.

I have a 6' standard duty Kodiak box blade. It stays on my L3710DT most of the time as a combination rear counterweight/bumper. I'm not sure exactly how heavy it is, but it is heavy enough that it doesn't scoot around easily to hook up to the three point. There seems to be a big difference between it and the 4' JBar box that fits my little Yanmar. the only problem I have had with it is that the cutting edge broke off one of the imported scarifiers. Apparently, the small spot welds weren't designed to chisel rocks with. Luckily, I went back over my tracks, found the pieces and welded them back together. Now it's better than before.

I have a 72" Kodiak box blade, and the only problem I have had was bending the lower lift pins. I hit a large tree root that stopped my tractor dead in its tracks. I think I paid about $2 to replace the pin.

Thanks for your comments guys. I was stressing that I just got what I paid for. It's amazing that the prices ranged from $280 - $900 for the same tool. Well, wish me luck. This has been a miserable winter on the east coast and there's a ton of clean-up to do for spring. Last weeks melt-off was the first time I saw my gravel driveway since November - WHAT A MESS!
Thanks again /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I forgot to mention that the lift pins on mine bent also. I attribute that as much to me not noticing that they had worked loose and gained some wobble room as I do to them being lesser quality. I bought new ones at Tractor Supply, coated the threads down with red loctite and torqued them down with my impact wrench. I'll probably have to cut them off if I ever need to replace them, but maybe they won't work loose this time.
