Did you skip the fuel pump altogether by putting a temp fuel supply higher than the carb and just using a hose to the carb? That would eliminate or prove the fuel pump problem pretty quick.
Have a large syringe for mixed gas and used it to feed the carb when the engine was acting up. It ran perfect till I was out of gas in the syringe. The new pump barely trickles at full throttle but when cooled down it flows normally at full throttle. Something with the vacuum pressure actuating the pump is the issue.
