- 1960 Case 430, 1947 Ford 8N, 1942 Ford 9N [not running], 5252 Cub Cadet to cut the lawn, John deere 140 , Sears SS12, Crafsman 5000GT, and a Gravley 816 which may be the most rugged tractor that I have ever seen.
My 5252 will do this also. I had to reweld the muffler once were it cracked at the pipe to muffer joint. Backfires cannot be good. What I have been doing with good results is to turn the key off and quickly open the throttle to full. The engine wil just die out. No more pops. Just my 2cents.
