how do u get the master track pin tite in link? parts are new. <font color="red">

If you have a new pin and new links and they are not tight then the pin is not right for the link you should have to drive the pin in with a LARGE hammer. On a dozer anyway some excavator links use a roll pin to keep them in but not dozer or loader tracks

My old dozer's master link pin used roll pins but it still took a sledge to install or remove it. It was an IH from 1972

thanks for replies dealer said vendor made pin to small said ok to weld it on end. instead i heated pin 1/2 inch from each end & hit it 2 times with 8# hammer then turned it down to .030 over dia. & drove it in to link. have old rails & pads are they worth any thing or just scrap metal? thanks

tell the dealer you want the right size pin yes you can weld them but most of the time they will brake. same for expanding the head of the pin the pin should be tight for apx 1-1/2 - 2" on each end or you will most likely ruin the new links from the pin working in them
