In a pinch, you could also use those little tampons without the applicator as earplugs.

Did yall see the 77 year old man that dragged his donkey about 1/2 mile down the road with his ATV because it wouldn't walk for him? They had to put the poor thing to sleep. A whole box of Kotex wouldn't have helped that animal!
