Backhoe KPX Backhoe.....Who has one?

I clicked on the TBN link above. Seems like if i added a subframe mount it would be all i want....er...need. At 1/2 the price it is tempting.....

Ok, the KPX rep caled last night and said that their hoe is not designd for use with a subframe. I thought any 3pt hoe could be adapted . Oh well, it was a thought anyway.........

You and he are both correct. THEY didn't design it for a sub-frame, but YOU can adapt it to work with one. Will need to build the frame and weld on some attachment points to the hoe. I have not done one, but the project is pretty straight forward. If you do a search on building subframes, you will find several projects.

What is the danger of attaching a back hoe on a 3 pt as against a sub frame mount.

I anticipate digging 2-3 ft deep drainage trenches, removing small tree stumps and arranging log piles. I have a 2210

JB, thanks, i'll look into it further.......

Deerman, the general consensus is that without a subframe, the hoe will put too much strain on the 3pt, which was not designed to have that kind of force applied to it. The cost of the subframe is minor compared to the cost of the hoe, so it makes good sense to use one.
