NOT TRUE!! You can run that mid-mounted mower raised up all the way, lowered all the way or any position in between. I own a B3030 for almost 4 years.

It seems I need to restate my point. The MMMs for the B2630 and B3030 are not "suspended" decks. They are "floating" decks, which is the same thing as "ground contact" decks. This is just like the FEL bucket having its full weight (but no hydraulic downpressure) on the ground when in the "float" position. The full weight of the deck is designed to sit on the deck wheels. Adjustments for height are done to the deck wheels and the full weight is supposed to sit on the deck wheels. MMMs with suspended decks allow for height adjustment to be made by running the MMM while part to all of the weight is suspended from the lift linkage. The tractor has a MMM position control knob just below the operator's seat. (This is totally different than the 3ph position control being referred to otherwise). This knob allows the MMM to be lowered to a preset yet partially elevated position. The deck will go no lower than the dial setting. I am under the impression that tractors with the floating/ground contact MMMs do not have this position control knob. Some TBN members have mentioned that they drilled holes in the deck and used chain to suspend the deck at a desired height to overcome this. Some owners prefer the floating deck, stating that it follows ground contour better. Others have stated that in soft sod the deck wheels make ruts due to the high pounds per square inch on the small wheels.

In light of your observation, let me rephrase what I said earlier: While it is possible to run the MMM on a B3030 with the deck weight off the wheels, the deck is designed to be a ground contact implement. All of the weight is intended to be placed on the deck rollers.

I accept your point that you can engage the deck in a raised position, you are correct. It seems Kubota intends for it to run while on the ground. I hope this extra information clarifies the point I was making. I would be very interested in knowing-did you use yours regularly in a lifted position? What were the results?

Not sure if the new B3000 open station went to the quarter inching valve. The cold weather package cab model has the position control, whereas the basic cab model has the quarter inching.

I have been very happy with my B3030, but was considering moving to a cab version. However, the B3000 cab version is $10k more than I paid for my open station B3030 just 3 years ago, so I'm sticking with the B3030 for a while longer.

Completely agree. I even wish the thing had draft control. They're diminishing the machine's capabilities instead of improving it.

Yes, it is a ground contact deck & is intended to run while on the ground. I did mow with mine all the way raised a few times. I sold some property about 4 or 5 years ago & built a new house across the street. The new owners didn't keep up with the mowing too well the first year or so & the grass was taller than the hood on the B3030. The first time I went through I had the 72 inch mower raised all the way & then about half way on the second pass. I mowed a couple times for them like this until they contracted someone to mow for them. No harm was done to tractor or mower. I wouldn't recommend making this a habbit, though.

As of today it is slightly higher than US dollar: $1 Canadian = $1.028 US
