Hello To All,
I am looking at a used BL4572 backhoe to use on my L3710 tractor. I cannot find any info on the BL4572. Is anyone familar with it? It has the PTO pump. The price is $1800. Is this a good price? What does it weigh? Will it work on the L3710? I assume the 72 means it is a 6 foot reach. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about that specific hoe but $1800 for a BH is a great price. If it is in good condition and will work with your tractor it sounds like a no-brainer. Heck a good PTO pump alone is worth a few hundred bucks...

But you do want to make sure it will work with your tractor. If the hoses and pistons are broken down it might be pretty expensive to get it in good working condition. Broken pins can also be pricey.

Sounds like it could be a really good deal, but if it is junk then...well, it isn't a good deal :p...

Does the L3710 require a subframe for any backhoe to work on it? It also has a fixed ROPS. Does it need to be changed to a folding ROPS? I do not know anything about backhoes or attaching one to the L3710. Thanks for your help.

The only reference I can find to the BL 4572 seems to be for Mini Excavators.

You could probably fabricate some kind of mount but it sounds like it might be a major project. I have a BH on my L3710, I would not recommend mounting one without a sub frame. Depending on the sub frame you go with you may have to replace the ROPS. Mine required a taller, one peice ROPS.

Good luck,

Gary

Your tractor will handle this backhoe no problem. Yes, it is a six foot reach. You will need to get a three point hitch frame for this if it doesn't come with one, or get a frame mount for your tractor. Finding one for this older backhoe may be difficult.

$1800 is great price if it is in decent shape. I would say more like$3000 would be the norm. The hydraulic pump can be rebuilt, hoses replaced, cylinders re packed, so unless there is structural damage, you should be able to get it up and running without spending too much money.

I just wanted to say Thanks. If not for the advice from a couple of members from this forum, I would have passed on the backhoe that I found for $1800. I picked it up yesterday and put it on my L3710 today. It came complete with the 3 point hitch. I am amazed at how well it works. The PTO pump works well, no leaks in the hoses, and pistons seem fine. Now I just need to learn how to use it proficiently. And to believe I almost passed on it. Thanks again.:D

Sounds like you found a good deal! If you are planning on doing any serious work with this new BH, I hope you are planning on some sort of sub frame? Please understand a BH can put some very substantial structural strains on your tractor.

Try doing a search on the subject.

I wish you good luck,

Gary
