Kubota 5460 skid plate

I finally got the skid plate made and mounted to protect the fragile under side of my Grand L. I originally only planned to protect the third function hoses but then decided to extend the plate back a little further to provide some protection for the filters and metal lines as well. Sorry that the phots are not the best. I tried to get a picture under the tractor but there was not enough room to get a decent photo.

Very nice. The underside of my M6800 is also fragile. Where did you get the plates? Were they custom made? I didn’t know Kubota made any.

I had a coworker make it. I made a cardboard template that he used as a pattern.

The hydraulic filters are tucked away on this tractor but a stick could still find its way. Several years ago I had teed log crush the hydraulic filter and break the cast fitter housing on my Mahindra. I think there is probably an old thread on TBN about that incident.

You're lucky they are tucked away. On both my Kubotas they are hanging right out there. Once bit, twice shy is a good way to go though.

That looks great. I only have about 20 hours on my Kubota and really like it but the underbelly is definitely soft as compared to my Mahindra.

Gordon, mine are vulnerable too. I went forward and protected the valves as well.

Nice job on the 3rd function protection. I'm not much on metal work, so I ordered the kit that Paul Shorts sells (Specialty Repairs).

After hitting my rear high flasher lenses several times I also got his light guards.
