Kubota 7060 question

Hey, Im looking at the M7060 and need a little help understanding the difference in the 8x8 transmission and the 12x12.

Before any of you jokers tell me there is 4 more gears, I got that part! :laughing:

Im looking for info on what the differences are on the parts, pumps, gears, hydraulics, pros or cons. More specifics about the trans upgrade, and if it is better.

I have 12 gears and shuttle shift now, and thinking I wont want to give the different gear options up, but I dont know the details or pros & cons.

Also what do you think the price increase would be for the 12x12?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

mine is a 2019, now new models have come out. The 12 has 20gpm pump, the 8 has 16gpm pump, I got the creep set also and it is handy
when doing hookups, or moving loads with precision, like placing a one ton generator on its mount, or slight incline placements. All info on website and download pdf pamphlets

From the build & price page of kubota website it seems about a $4k increase. Does that sound about right??

The 8 speed is a dual range (not synchronized) with a 4 speed synchronized main transmission.

The 12 speed is a dual range (non synchronized) with a 6 speed synchronized main transmission.

I replaced a MF with similar 8 speed with my M9960 with 12 speed, resulting in less need to stop to change ranges.

Not sure about bumping prices in my area but few (any?) are dealing much from MSRP. Not a good time to buy.

I have been wondering how vulnerable the fuel tank is. ?

I do tend to operate in Rough conditions.

Mine is a '17. At that time 12x12 gained about 4 gpm on overall hydraulic flow, electronic 4x4, E-pto(540 pto speed at 1600 rpms instead of 2250), park gear instead of a parking brake, and I believe there was one more thing that I can't remember now.
I don't know that I gained anything. E-pto is useless because you need high rpms for DPF. Electronic 4x4 over manual, I don't see any plus or minus really. I never use 5 or 6 for field work and can use high side for traveling. GPM might be the only gain but I don't know if I would notice it, if I compared it to standard
Good luck with your decision, I had to order mine because I got an open station and they are normally 8x8

I used the zero down zero financing and KTAC, ordered everything I wanted, probably didn't need that third rear float valve, love the air ride, one mistake took the default bucket on the FEL and it was narrower than the R1 radials, so the dealer let me swap to the wider bucket for the difference in retail price. Ktac is wonderful already used it. Also when negotiating price the last thing make them throw in a manuals and all maintenance supplies out to and include 1000hrs. It will save you big time.
