Kubota B1700
I have a 1998 Kubota B1700 tractor with 570 hours on it. Recently it has been losing power, and even stalling as it seems starving for fuel. I have changed the sediment bowl fuel filter, and even a nearly new one doesn't make a difference. There is a tiny bit of water in the sediment bowl, but not a significant amount. There appears to be no cartridge type spin on fuel filter. What could be starving the unit for fuel? Do these usually bullet proof 3 cylinders have a propensity for failing injector pumps? I have found no pinched lines or leaks or anything. The starving fuel issue seems to present itself after operating for a few minutes, after warmup. I am not aware of any other fuel filter or water separator than the sediment bowl on this unit. Is there one I have missed. The operators manual does not mention one.

Injector pumps usually are constant when failing. With only 570hrs I would not think the pump likely.
Could be a build up of water in the tank. Have you tried some Power Service or other fuel additive that takes out water?
Also, are there any rubber fuel lines that could be collapsing in the inside?

Go through the entire fuel flow system to ensure proper flow and then bleed the pump. Might want to blow out the lines. Also look at the throttle linkage/hove or linkage to assure all is set properly with all springs in place.

blockage in the fuel tank

Nice to hear from a fellow B1700 owner...(mine is a '94'-'95'...about 800 Hrs.)...no fuel issues to date...
Are you getting a good gravity flow from the tank to the first filter inlet?

Thank you for the responses. The o rings are okay, and I can't find any pinched lines or clogs. I am going to check that the vent works, and then go to the tank and drain and clean same. When I clean the bowl filter, the fuel will always flow very well with no apparent obstruction. Can just a little water cause the engine to act such? It is a little critter, but always does an admirable job. I am used to my former larger stuff (Cats, Macks, John Deer, Komatsu) that only burped with a bit of water. I am hoping that it is not the injector pump.
Thanks again, Fred

When you say "nearly a new one" are you saying that you tried a used fuel filter? There is always the possibility that the one you put it had much the same issue as the one you took out. It doesn't take very much water to stop one of those filters up completely.
