hi, i have a 1995 kubota b2400 which i recentley bought. i was using it for 1-2 hours when i developed a problem. i was using a scrape blade to smooth my driveway when the 3 point hitch would no longer go up . while i was able to finally get it to go to return to my garage, i turned the tractor off and let it set for a few hours to see if any change. it still would not lift up. the tractor has a hydrostat transmission, and that works fine, but the 3 point hitch will not go up. does any one know what my problem is? any help would be greatley appreciated. thanks

It might entirely be stuck in the lowered position-happens when the machine is unused for a bit of time and the hydraulics may be bypassing in relief because of it.

Have you ever greased the bushings on the lower arms? the fittings may be buried in dirt behind the attachment points -the two shafts exiting the rear of the transmission which allow the lower linkages to raise and lower.

If you have a car jack that is in good shape you could place a block of wood or two under the rear of the blades swival point to push it up and it should be able to raise up with no issues after it is unstuck.

If it continues you may have a bad spool valve in the tractors transmission that needs work or possibly a clogged filter.

hi leon, thanks for the reply. i could not find any grease fittings. the shaft that raises and lowers the 3 point hitch is located near the top almost under the seat. the bottom two arms of three point hitch both ride on the same steel shaft. i could remove the scrape blade and jack the two lower 3 point hitch arms to try to un stick it is that what you are saying? thanks bill

NO No No! simply place the jack under the rear of the scraper blade- the part where the pin is located which allows you to turn the blade left or right-this gives the most leverage to do the job- I think your spool valve is simply stuck in the transmission.

I am assuming this is not a box blade-but if it is anyplace you raise it with the jack from the rear will still apply.

If your tractor still the hydraulic lock metering valve under the seat to set the implement depth be sure to use it to avoid the problem from occurring again as the float positiion will simply use gravity to suck it into the ground.

How familiar with the tractor are you?

did you check the knob under the seat that adjust the flow rate on the 3ph ?

if it was set slow and you've bumped it with your foot it may have gotten closed...

hi, i did jack the scrape blade up and no luck, but when i pulled back the 3 point lift lever, i could hear a noise that went something like scratch scratch scratch ect. when i lowered the 3 point hitch lever the noise stopped. also i tried to adjust the flow nob located under the seat and it did not help the situation. any other ideas? thanks bill

hi, i checked the fluid level and it appears to be about a half inch too high on the dip stick {yellow oil yellow dipstick = hard to read} it does not have a loader. i bought this b 2400 last fall and used it for around 4 hours bush hogging and then put it in the garage for the winter. i just started using it last week and yesterday the 3 point hitch started not rising up. thanks bill

make sure the lock valve is fully open, you should not have any oil noises if it is working properly.

Check the hydraulic oil filter screen if it has one to see if it is plugged and then call the kubota folks as you may need a new pump or control valve in the transmission as well as new oil.

It seems that you have water in the oil and thats a huge problem-the oil should not be yellow at all.

It does have a screen, but you will loose fluid when you pull it, so have some on hand to replace ( I bought a 5gal bucket of Warren Tractor Fluid, changed the screen and drained all fluids and refilled )

My suggestion is to have a new screen on hand ( $15ish ) so you can clean the old at your leisure and swap out every service. The spin on filter should be changed as well.

The spin on filter is on left side of trans behind step ( as you are sitting on tractor ) the screen is on right side, you will see a tube running the length of the trans with a large round end to it, and a nut, this nut is your screen, there is an "O" ring behind the flange of the nut, replace that as well.

the lowest bolt heads on each side of the trans case under the axle are the diff drains, pulls those and drain the remainder of oil out. ( careful, there are gaskets on these bolts, they can be reused ) There is also a drain on the bottom side of the mid PTO that drives the MMM ( if so equipped )
