I had time to take a look earlier this afternoon and I'm glad to say that I solved my problem. I just saw PrairieSoul's reply a few minutes ago and he has it right. My hydro neutral indicator switch was out of adjustment in its mount. The shaft that depresses the switch would not quite push the switch in far enough, but would sometimes because it was right at the threshold. The switch itself was fine.

I have attached pictures of the switch BEFORE and AFTER adjustment, as well as a picture of the switch unmounted. As you can see, the AFTER picture has a few more threads on the right side, which shows how much closer the switch is to the shaft (on the right) after I adjusted it. It was a little difficult to get to the nuts to make the adjustment, but I managed. Now it works like new!

Inukeu2 - mine behaved as yours did, with the relay noise in the front, etc. That threw me off as well. One possible explanation is that there are multiple relays involved with the various switches and they 'click" at the same time when you turn on the switch. That's only a guess, however, without studying the wiring diagrams. I'm not sure about my dash lights, I didn't pay attention to those. In any event, this fixed my issue at least, and it's probably worth checking it out in your situation. You never know!

Hey that's awesome. I'm glad you got it fixed. Glad to hear someone can sleep tonight. I will post when I get mine figured out. I will check the adjustment on the treadle. It looks pretty self explanatory. Glad you got it working.

Here is one for the record books. The fix is the last thing you would imagine, at least is was my last thing I would even consider. Last year I wasted money on the piston that supposed to keep the foot pedal in the middle position. This year after plowing the drive (1800') after a major snow, I parked it in the wood shed. The next morning, nothing. Today I pulled the ignition switch and was reading the different ohm's for the different positions. Scratched my head. I could jump just as inukeu2 stated. The one thing that bothered me was why my indicator lights did not light when the key was turned to the first position. I checked the lights, nothing; but the emergency flashers worked. I looked at the fuses, starting with the solenoid, good. Then I went one by one and when I hit the headlight fuse, sure enough it was gone. Good thing there is a spare in the box. I changed it and VROOOOM! Who would believe that the headlight fuse keeps the tractor from starting. This one I will remember.

This is an old thread but it sure helped us out.
Our Kabota died in mid use a few days ago. Here's how that conversation went between my husband and myself:

Me Sunday: The Tractor Died
Him: Let me pull up the manual and screw with it for 2 days.
Me: Screw the manual, let me pull up TractorByNet and see what the Forums say.
Him: So they know more than the manual?
Me: Yes, it's practical knowledge.
Him today: After checking all safety switches, etc.etc.etc....And becoming a hot greasy mess...I'M DONE. I'm calling Kabota to pick it up.
Me: I just finished the Forum and the last thing listed was a blown fuse. Evidently that can prevent the tractor from starting.
Him: I'M DONE. You check them.
Me: Nope...It's the easiest thing to check and you're not gonna check it?
Him: NO.
A few minutes later: Tractor is running. Husband checked fuses, the seat fuse was blown which made the tractor safety switch think nobody was on the seat.
Husband: Is now eating crow.
Me: You're welcome and I want you to brag about me to at least two of your friends as penance.
Him: You're really cute honey.
Me: I'm glad we won't have a tractor repair bill because I spent money today.
PS: Not everyone needs to go to college to be smart. Just sayin'....
(Big thanks to the very last poster on this thread - It was the Seat Fuse)
