Kubota B2920
I have a Kubota B2920. I am having an issue the the FEL only raising part way and to lower it i have to push the level the whole way to float. At the same time the 3 point hitch will not raise or lower. I have read some other older posts and these two issues seem to be realted. I have tried to run the FEL with the 3 point lever in neutral and it still did not work. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I called the local Kubota dealer and all they said was check the hoses are connected properly and fluid is full, I did and it is full.

Make sure the hydraulic flow rate valve (knob under the seat) is not closed. I think that only affects the 3-pt hitch lowering rate, but it's worth a look in case it does more. Plenty of people accidentally close it and then wonder what went wrong.

The other common problem is the 3-pt lever sticking in the up position, sending the hydraulics into relief. So check the mechanism and make sure the lever is really not engaged, and that the mechanism connected to the lever is not stuck.

The dealer said check the hoses are connected properly. How he should of said it, was check your quick couplers. They might look right but unplug, check, and plug back together making sure they stay on by giving a hard pull.

Reset all the QD's.

Make sure all hoses are connected correctly.

Did you replace anything hyd lately?

The 3pt is supposed to be in neutral when using the FEL, and if it was in neutral, and the FEL hung up mid way, then the problem is the QD's .

Hey guys thanks for all of the input. I have tried it all and still no luck. I do think the 3 point hitch mechanism might be the issue. I move the level but i'm not sure it "triggers" any response inside the mechanism.

Check and see if the PB hose and return hose are switched.

The PB line is the flow path and should flow through all valves.

The instructions for my BH65 backhoe for my B2620 is to have the 3pt hitch all the way down.

I had a similar experience without the hoe attached after just getting my tractor back from service. When I had the 3pt down, the loader worked fine. When I had the 3pt up, the loader lifted only about halfway up, and would only go down with float. I called the dealer to see if I needed to add hyd fluid. He said he doubted it. He said with the 3pt up, it may be still trying to lift the 3pt. He suggested to check the arms to see if they had a little play up and down while in the up position. If not, then it is diverting all fluid to try to raise the lift.

I haven't tested this yet, but it made sense. I'm going out later today and will experiment with it.

If you want to know if the 3pt is using fluid to developed any pressure, then install a hyd gage in a tee in the IN port of the FEL valve.

Now, anytime a hyd component is using fluid to develop pressure, it will be reflected on the hyd gage.

If you think all valves are in neutral and you are showing pressure then you are wrong.

The 3pt is either in the raise position and using fluid.

The 3pt is in neutral and fluid is flowing trough the valve to tank.

The 3pt is in the down position, and fluid is flowing through the valve and the 3pt cyl is dumping back to the tank.

If you turn the descend knob to the right, you lock the cyl return fluid and is used for lock or transport.

You can still raise the 3pt, and it should stay up.

If the 3pt is in the raise position, it will cause back pressure and affect the FEL vale.

JJ, thanks for that explanation. Very helpful to me, too.

By the way HDBoy06, I just went and checked mine out (see my previous post #7). The 3 pt valve was definitely still applying pressure to attempt to raise the 3pt arms even when fully lifted. I backed off the 3pt lever just a little and it stopped my problem. There is an adjustment for this but I have not yet determined which way I have to adjust. According to the service manager at my Kubota Dealer, once all the way lifted, it is supposed to quit apply constant pressure up. (If I understood him correctly)

Maybe you have the same problem as me. As J.J. pointed out, my 3pt was still applying pressure, until I backed off of it a slight amount.

One you set the 3pt and it is not moving, that should be neural.

If you have flow the hyd will build up pressure, and the 3pt will raise.
