I am considering the purchase of a new b3200. I am concerned about the lack of sealing around the cheesy plastic front grill. Has anybody run this tractor in dirty conditions?

I have a B3030 and the B3200 has the same grill. It does a good job of stopping stuff from getting to the radiator. In addition, there is another screen in front of the radiator that catches just about anything that goes through the grill. I consider it a well thought out system to keep the radiator from clogging.

Here are few pics to show how well it works. The first pics are of dandelion fuzz and the second ones are of mosquitos.

Wow Toolguy how much time did that accumulate over? Does this only apply to the 30 series? I don't quite notice that on my BX24...yes, seems to be well thought out...

If your BX24 is anything like my BX23, the air is passed the other direction thru the engine compartment. The screen is below the dash, covering the battery. The other screen is just behind the radiator.

BotaBXer, The dandelion fuzz accumulated after just one mowing in the spring of 2006. The engine temp gauge never showed any sign of overheating. The mosquitoes surprised me the most. It was last May during a cool evening of mowing. There were clouds of mosquitoes in the air. Since it was cool, I was wearing a hat, coat and gloves so the bugs never bothered me. Just before I put the tractor away for the night I got off to see if there was anything on the grill that I should clean off. Needless to say, I just had to take a picture. As soon as I shut the engine off most of them flew away.

The grill and front screen on the B3200 in my opinion is effective in its design. Having previously owned Kubota tractors and now own a B3200 the screen in front of the radiator keeps a majority of the junk off the fins. This observation is a comparison with several MF's, JD's, Farmalls a David Brown and Case tractors I have had to operate and maintain in my younger years.
