Snowblower deflector update:

Just got off the phone with dealer. He said both the 3rd function and the hydraulic deflector are separate items and are not duplicating or using the same parts.

For the hydraulic deflector option, there's a toggle switch on the loader joystick that switches the side to side joystick function from chute rotation over to deflector angle (i.e. they are both using the same stick movement and valves and there is a hydraulic solenoid that switches the function out front.

This seems sort of silly to me. Better would have been to use the 3rd function valve for the deflector, being as that is also mounted to the joystick and then means that all three blower functions are completely discreet. I plan to order mine with "none" for deflector control. I'll install a small cylinder for deflection and be a happy camper.

That's how I figured it would work...Just got off the phone with my local dealer and they said they would be losing money at 15% off with free installation:rolleyes:. Looks like I will be taking a road trip to get mine.

The local dealer told me that if purchased and financed in a no sales tax state that within a couple of years it would come back around and I would end up having to pay sales tax (6%) plus interest/penalties. Anyone know if this is true or is it just some more BS from a salesman?

Can anyone refer me to a dealer who sells for 15% off? I really don't care where it comes from at this point...I am sick of dealing with all these idiots that don't even know what options are available for the **** they're selling.

I have contacted 3 different dealers and every single one knew little to nothing about the B3350, one even started asking me questions about it:mad:. Amazing how hard it is to buy a tractor:thumbdown:

Yup...I would really like to work with my local dealer as thats's where I will have any warranty/service done. But the fact that they think retail with free setup is a good deal is a complete joke.

201Drive,

I don't think you'll get positive results from the shotgun approach to pricing requests. Dealers get that often enough that they will not put their hearts into it . . . at least that's what I've seen so far. They'll bang some numbers together and punch it out there. One of the quotes I got from "no sales tax" Oregon was $51K (B3350, loader, backhoe, thum, front blower etc), that was about $6K more than the quote I got by flying 250 miles and sitting down with a dealer. I'm pretty sure most will want to know you're serious before they get serious.

I also tell them that I want their best price going in, and that although I plan to get additional quotes, I will not share their quote and/or ask someone else to beat it . . . not my style.

Looks like I'll be settling for 13% (or close to that) off, plus free set up and delivery (over a couple of hundred miles). Couldn't find anyone willing to do it for 15% off.

EDIT: In the interest of honesty and full disclosure (something that is abysmally lacking in our current leadership), reviewing the final quote I come up with a simple discount of 11.4% with free set up and delivery. That is, taking list price total all items and then multiplying that figure by 0.114 and then subtracting the result from list price. 13 or 15 percent would be nice, but I'll take go with this one.

Well, I've already got responses from 2 dealers one is 10.5% off MSRP no freight or setup charges without ever talking to him. The other is 11% off but does have setup and freight charges. Goes to show how stupid my dealer is, I feel sorry for the folks that believe them and pay retail. The crappy part is I will be stuck using them for any service/warrany work, hopefully their service department is better than their sales department. :)

If you finance the unit who ever holds the paper may notify your state they have a lien on the tractor. The Revenue Department (tax department) in some states are cross checking the department that has lien information and searching for large out of state purchases and the amount of tax paid.

This also insures the Dealer did not charge you taxes and then pocketed the money.
