Can someone provide an approximate price on a Kubota
B7100 4 wheel drive tractor and accessories, to be sold as a unit? The tractor has 750 hours on it, it is a diesel. No ROPS, thought to be a mid 80's tractor. Unsure if grey market or not. The unit was with a business so the paint is green and orange combo.
The tractor would include a one year old front end loader, Model 1846QT by Bush Hog. It also has a one year old 3pt snow blower with skids and a 3pt blade. It has power steering. That is all I have now. Thank you.
B7100 with Power Steering??? Kubota never sold them that way. If it truely has power steering, then it was likely an owner modification. Not that that is a bad thing. Several others on this forum have added power steering to
B7100's,
B7200's, and a
B6100. That said, getting parts related to the power steering setup might be an issue if there is a problem.
Is the tractor hydrostatic or gear drive?
Just for comparision, I purchased a 1980 gear-driven 4WD
B7100 with B219 loader (2000 hours) for $4600 in the spring of 2008. (no snow blower included).
A few months later (July 2008), I found this deal:
Mid-90's
B7100HST (Hyrdostatic, 4WD)
Woods DuAl 145 FEL
Meteor 50" rear snow blower
60" Mid-mount mower.
$6500
The only thing this package left me wanting for was power steering. Not having the time, or skills to fabricate a power steering system for the
B7100, I started looking for a similar-sized tractor with power steering.
Models fitting this bill are:
B1550,
B1750,
B2150,
B7500,
B7510,
B7610,
B2100,
B2400,
B2410 (and, of coarse, all the BX's and newer xx20 and xx30 B-series).
I already had a tractor at this point, so I waited for the right deal. This is what I got:
2005
B7610 (basically the same as the
B2410, but without position control)
LA352 FEL
Woods post hole digger
king-cutter landscape rack
$7500
The two implements included with this together equal the used price of a decent snow blower. It isn't hard to find a decent used 3PH snow blower for around $800-$1000. A rear blade can be had for $100-$250 used, $350 and up for a new one.
So, although $6-$7k might be a decent price, newer, more capable tractors can be had for that price. I see quite a few BX's in this price range.
Also, if it is gear-driven, it isn't the best machine to run the 3PH snow blower, as you only have two choices for rear gears, too slow, and too fast. Remember, that with a gear driven tractor, you go a fixed speed for a given gear/engine RPM setting, and for running the snow blower, you'll want to run at PTO speed (full engine RPM). With a hydrostatic, you can keep the RPM's constant, and go whatever speed you need to keep the blower full of snow, but not go too fast as to bog it down.
You might want to post some pictures of the tractor and all its implements on this forum to get some more opinions before making an offer.
Good luck with your choice.

Jay
