My oldest got to help weld the bottom in, pretty good for a 2nd time welding:

Finished back, here you can see the piece that I put on the heel the bucket to act as a wear plate as well as the backside of the cutting edge:

Front, I picked up two more hooks and weld with them on in line with the bucket curl cylinders:

Kudos to you for getting you kid involved! :thumbsup: It is so easy to not let them try in the first place... just cringe a little and then re do if you have to, when they aren't looking.

Its not structural, so I will leave it and they can say "look at my weld" anytime they want
I did a lot of repairs with Dad growing up and learned a lot. I am trying to pass some of that on to my kids so that they can hopefully have more common sense than some of my younger siblings who didn't have that experience.
