Kubota Backhoe Thumb is Worn

I need new "tooth tips" for the backhoe thumb on the M59. The thumb tips are worn off and rounded working on granite stone walls, and Kubota doesn't make replaceable tips on the BT1200 BH thumb.
I don't know if anyone does.
Does anyone have any hints? I think mine are worn back an inch or two, but don't even know what new ones should measure.
A whole new thumb is one possibility, but expensive.

I would weld some new tips on. Using Hardox 400 or 450 steel or I believe you guys use AR400 steel over there.

I don't think it's that critical that you match exactly the original dimensions. Maybe a little bit longer or shorter may work better depending on your use.

Agreed at $850 for a new one you can likely get 100$ of steel and weld on - I presume yours go thru the bucket teeth but should have enough clearance to weld new ones on the sides?

I was contemplating welding on some square pieces of AR400 on the tips. My factory thumb ends are too rounded to grip rocks adequately.

I too was contemplating welding 1” square teeth/fangs to the tips. A6 tool steel because that what I have on hand. 1-2” long would help. Four teeth? Weld square or diamond, and tip bevel?

Have seen one example of large curved tooth plates added for logs. Probably not the best for rocks.

I put sharp triangular teeth on my loader grapple - good grip but the negative is brush/wood doesn't always want to fall off when released - gets stuck! I think square tips will give good grip for rocks and wood.
