It has its own pump powered by the pto so it should work OK. But I couldnt say how well it would 'sit' on the tractor.

With a closed system shaft driven pump yes 20HP will handle any demand except multiple functions will slow with an open center hydraulic system. Mr. Brown brings up an important safety issue using a three point hitch, don't do it, get a fabricated frame to attach the hoe to. If any link would fail under breakout pressure on the bucket and stick you could be severly injured. The choice is yours and also the risk. People argue the outrigger will take this force but I'm telling you if a lower link breaks, they simply becomes a cantilever forcing your body into a fulcrum against the control valves, the rops ( if equipped ) or an unforeseeable pinch point due to the vector of the unleased force. Please think about this before you mount a backhoe to a three point hitch and place your body on top of it.

- JD2555 and a few Allis Chalmers and now one Kubota
3pt hitch backhoes are also a lot harder on the tractor than a subframe model. I recently purchased a subframe hoe, and then came across a 3pt hitch model a little bigger for a lot less money. I plan on refurbishing the 3pt and using it, but my JD is a lot more tractor than the little hoe's are used to, so the tractor should handle it ok. If not, I will be wishing I had kept the subframe model instead of selling it (sometime soon?)
