Does anyone know if a GCK60-BX grass catcher for a 60' deck will fit on a BX 1850 with a 54" deck? I just can't see $1800 to buy a new one Thanks -Keith

According to the "Build your Kubota" site. The BX24 60" grass catcher is $1852, but the BX1850 and BX2350 has it for $1825. Both are 9.5 bushels. Hmmm, strange. Would likw to put one on my BX24, but not at that price. I have an old 18HP Craftsman with a three bin bagger that just keeps on running. I've been using that for lawn cleanup.

At the price of a bagger you could purchase a whole new machine (Craftsman or something similar) WITH a bagger on it.

I have both a Craftsman tripple passive bagger, and a Kubota Bx2230 with a PTO powered bagger and I can tell you there is no comparison. It is the difference between an enjoyable spring playing with the kids -and- being bent over cleaning out a clogged bagger tube. My wife and I curse and lament the Craftsman bagger, especially in the spring time. I bought my Kubota bagger brand new in Oregon for $900. True, that's about what I paid for the Craftsman, BUT IT DOESNT WORK!

I did have the Kubota grass catcher for my BX2200 that I used for about 5 years. It was a little easier to mount/dismount than the B7800 model, however the biggest downside was that it filled up really quickly because it is relatively small--9 bushels or so. On my yard that translated into MANY trips on and off the tractor to empty it. On the plus side the Kubota catcher worked like a champ, sucking up leaves sticks, just about anything. It only clogged twice in the time I used it.

I purchased a Kubota grass catcher when I upgraded to my B7800, it's a different design than what was used on the BX and is a huge PIA to mount and dismount. I found a used Trac Vac that I now use instead. Now that I've used the Trac Vac I cant envision any circumstances that I'd go back--I'll be looking to move the Kubota catcher for the B7800.

I'm using that bagger on my BX23 with the 54" deck. I believe that only the deck boot, and associated attaching parts, are different between the 60" and 54" implementation.

So I'd say that if Kubota specifies that bagger to work on a smaller BX at all then it will work on the 54".

Good luck,

Joe

Keith,
You will at least need a new boot designed for the deck you are using. The other issue is the bagger design has changed between 2005 and now. My dealer told me the old baggers are not a straight fit, but I'm sure it could be made to work.

Best Regards, Good Luck and Be Safe

im sure all you would have to do is get a boot to fit and other than that there is no diffrence
