Backhoe Kubota BH90 Backhoe Questions

   / Kubota BH90 Backhoe Questions #11
Bringing this post back to life. I'm looking at a BH90 that was used on a L series tractor. I have a 2011 MX5100. How do I find out if the subframe will work on my tractor and does anyone have this combo?

I just did this. To buy the appropriate TRACTOR SIDE of the subframe (you'll need to make sure the hoe-side subframe you already have is correct).
My dealer had to order something like 40 seperate parts for a total of $1300. Woods makes the large parts to order so it'll be 3 weeks to ship.

Short answer - talk to your dealer.

Not sure of the differences between the BH90 and BH92, but I run a 2012 MX5100HST with a BH92, and couldnt be happier with the combo. Full subframe mount doesnt interfere with my 3pt ops in any way I can see. I have about 200 hrs on the BH92 with an 18" bucket, and have found it to be a workhorse. Although it is NOT a commercial hoe by any stretch, it does the job well. My only wish would be to have extend-a -hoe capability.

Im in idiot. I thought crystallake was talking about a Woods BH90X not a Kubota BH90. Apparently the thread title was not obvious enough.

I have a Kubota BH90 attached to a L3240. I am pleased with it. The 3 point arms aren't a problem. The backhoe speed is fine. The hydraulics are provided by the tractor, so any equal strength backhoe on this tractor will be the same speed. A TLB or excavator is probably faster, but the speed is good enough. I haven't bent any cylinders on mine.

Thanks for the replies, it is a Kubota BH-90 I am looking to buy. Docone, how hard is the change out when you want to go back to three point operations. Do you have to remove all the three point arms/stabilizers?

Yes I do have to remove the 3pt links, all in all about half hrs work.

Same here, first time was longer but I got an extra set of the two sockets I need for the 3-point and keep those in the tractor tool box so it goes a lot faster now.

Still looking at this, but now I have found a lightly used Kubota BH92 that may be a better match and includes the factory subframe that will bolt right on. Those that have bent the three point--can you elaborate. My reading tells me that the arms and links have to come off to put the BH on, is this correct?

Yes, you are correct. The links, and lift arms must be removed to install the B/H. It takes only a few minutes to do, 4 bolts to remove, slide out the pins to drop the arms. I reinstall the pins and lock bolts on the tractor to keep the dirt out. The only tricky part is getting the correct spacing on the lower sway arms to clear the subframe, if they are too tight they WILL come in contact with the frame and you will bend them.
