You'll still have to put a ton of force on that little turnbuckle even with the heat. I thought something was going to break. I used a 12"pipe wrench and crescent wrench to get it to budge. After it moved a 1/16 inch one way I kept moving it back and forth and kept appyling Kroil. Let me know how you make out...Good Luck.


Same exact experience except I did my first adjust at 1700 hours.

I had to heat the SNOTS out of the turn buckle with a MAP gas torch and I was neither happy nor impressed with the design.

BTW, only one end of the turn buckle has a lock nut. the other end has what looks like one, but it is not. I destroyed one end and had to drill and tap it to re thread the rod.

These tractors are bullet proof, but they are a pain in the tail to work on.
