Buying Advice Kubota BT600 Backhoe bucket size

I have a BX24 with the BT600 hoe attached.

I am trying to find (a) which bucket I have and (b) if I have the 12" bucket where I can find a used 10" bucket (or smaller).

The part numbers show:



Bucket model 75598-42010 is a 10" bucket and the 75598-42010 is a 12" bucket.

Unfortunately, I can't find a number on the bucket and it measures 11" across the mouth so I am not sure which one I actually own.

The local Murfreesboro Kubota dealer parts guy blew me off in favor of an early lunch, telling me another guy at the dealership would sell the bucket to me for less. (Sigh). Lebanon Kubota dealer phone wasn't answered. You would think dealers would be hopping to sell product. Must be fat times in the equip biz.

Can any BT600 owner shed some light on this bucket size/model question?

Bruce, the BX25 uses two backhoe buckets, the BT2930 is an 8" bucket and the BT2931 is the 12" bucket.

An 8" bucket would save me a third of the excavation for small lines, which would be great!

The question though is that I have the BX24 with the BT600 not the BT601 the 2930 goes with.

Any idea if the 8" BT2930 is backwards compatible with the BX24/BT600?

If you have a BX24, it should have the BT601 BH. The BT600 was used on the BX22 and BX23.

Ah, I double checked and your are correct. I have the 601 hoe and the (BT2930) 8" bucket would work. GREAT!!!

Can you recommend any fishing holes on the net where I might find a used 2930 bucket up for sale?
(Maybe I missed one, but running the links from a couple pages of a Goog search turned up zero leads. Maybe I am just stuck going to a dealer?)

I really appreciate your all's help. My local dealers in TN are dead asleep at the switch for support and sales.

Have you tried Messicks? Messick's | Dealer for New Holland, Case IH, Kubota, Cub Cadet and More | Online Parts, Sales & Service.. I'm sure they'd be happy to sell you a bucket if the local guys don't want your money.

If you're looking to see if parts from another generation of BX will interchange onto yours - check out the Kubota corporate site and go to the parts diagrams. They will typically list the Kubota part numbers for everything.

So you could find the Kubota "B" part number for the buckets listed for your tractor - and cross reference those to buckets listed for BX23 and BX25 - etc.

What you might find is that there's say a 10" bucket listed for the BX23 - but none listed for the BX24. But if you then look at the 12" bucket part number - they are the same for both.

What that likely means is that bucket attachment point dimensions are the same for both - but for some reason a 10" bucket is just not marketed for the BX24.

I have found this exact situation for the BH77 hoe on my B3200. Turns out the buckets from the old B21 are the same as those for the BH77. There were 24" and 36" buckets listed for the B21 - but none for the BH77. My hoe came with an 18" bucket - and I picked up a 12" bucket - listed as being for a B21 - from Craigslist...... for $75.00.

As far as suggestions for where to look for buckets - I would say Craigslist is a good place to start , try using SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All the Classifieds. One Search. to search multiple regions. Also check Ebay - and just do web searches.
