Backhoe Kubota bx 23 La210-1 bt600

Just bought a Kubota BX 23 with loader LA210-1 and BT600 with 353 hours it was never serviced already blew a backhoe line differential lock does not work of course the air filter bracket is broken but love the tractor

May be worth putting a gauge on the hydraulics to check relief valve setting.

If the differential lock is not working, you need to check why, if the pin or other parts are sheared or broken there is a chance of the parts getting wedged in the rotating parts and busting the transmission case, which is an expensive repair.

Low hours, some neglect, hopefully you can turn it around. I have the newer (2013) Bx25D with same hours and love it. Find the (WSM) workshop manual and do a complete service. Another great forum is

The differential lock can be a little tricky to engange, mine will sometimes take several seconds to engange, steering back and forth a little will sometimes help as you drive slowly forward.

The BX23 is a little tank. A great little TLB. I bought mine with the intent of selling it when I was finished with backhoe projects. But the backhoe is so handy, I don't think I'll ever sell it.

Yes they last a long time if maintained I am going to keep mine also. How many hours on yours

I believe all the air filter brackets break on these tractor. I had some scrap metal and shaped it to brace it a little better. Might say I added some beef to it and it's held up since. As far a diff lock you have to hold it down while using it the minute you let up it disengages. Very good little tractors that can do lots. I got mine about six years ago used and it had little over 3'hundred hours and haven't been disappointed with it yet. Installed several hundred feet of water line, sewer lines, driveways, clearing, tilling, mowing, bushing hogging, moving dirt. And the list goes on and on. May not be the fastest in the world but handy as can be.
