Price Check Kubota BX23s Price

   / Kubota BX23s Price #11
Have you gone to the Kubota site and do the "Build my Kubota" option? that will give you the MSRP of the exact tractor you want. Then you can probably get 10% or so off of that. What I don't know about is the price of the grapple. I got mine from Everything Attachments.

Oh, and I have used the shim kit and upped my hydraulic pressure to 1950. Took all of 5 minutes to do. It really does help on the lift power, and I have seen no ill effects from doing it. I also have the SSQA, and when it come to switching from the grapple to the bucket and back, it sure does make life a lot better! :)

Thanks Tractor Dell! Ive been to the site to build and so it does seem they are giving almost the 10% discount off of msrp.
One more question. Would I have Kubota put the third valve on and then get the grapple from EA? I would like to do that since the kubota/Landprides grapples seem so heavy.
Thanks!

Definitely get the 3rd function when you order it. I didn't and took it back later for them to do it. I bought the kit and after looking at it, just figured it was something I didn't want to get into. It really is more of a diverter valve than a true 3rd function, but I really don't notice any issues with using it. Doesn't take long to know when to push the button and when not too. :)

The EA grapple for the SSQA is the 55" one and weighs a bit over 200 lbs. I am assuming the LP one is about the same weight. However, when I did a lot of research on the EA and Land Pride ones, the EA one just seemed to be built much heavier. I can attest that I have been using it very hard the last few weeks and I haven't seen any issues with the structure of the welds. All I have done is knock some of the paint off and got it muddy as heck. :)

Also, I wanted flat face connectors, so when I ordered my grapple from EA, I asked them to just cap the lines. They took $20 dollars off the cost. Then I got 2 sets of 3/8 inch flat face connectors from Amazon and attached them to both the 3rd function valve and the grapple. I put a male and female on each end, so there would be no way I can attach them backwards. I am sure you can get the dealer to add the connectors to the 3rd function valve when you get the tractor, if you don't want to do it yourself.

Here is a picture of me using it this afternoon in my woods that I am clearing.

Sweet! That's exactly what I will do. Are those weights on your back wheels? That stump is huge.
Thanks for all the advice. I love great forums like these!

You are welcome. I am far from an expert. It is just that I just did all this research earlier this year, as I just got my BX23S in the Spring. Hopefully I can help a little. There are more knowledgeable folks on here, so keep reading. :)

Yes, those are steel wheel weights. I preferred them as if I loaded the tires with something, and it got a hole, it could all leak out and I have to do it all over again. These are just held on with 2 bolts and are easy to remove. Also, if I need to repair/replace a tire, I don't have to deal with all the mess inside the tires.

Yea, that stump was all that the BX could handle. There were a few it could not pick up, but I just grabbed onto it with the grapple and pulled or pushed it where I wanted it to go. Not quite as fast as being able to pick it up and carry it to the burn pile, but it got there... and I didn't break a sweat. ;)

Your price seems reasonable, there may be a little money still on the table, maybe $1500 or so, depending how much effort you want to put into it. Also consider if units are selling well in your area, dealers will be less prone to big discounts, knowing they can sell the unit to someone else at their asking price, vs. to you at a lower profit. As others mentioned, call every KB dealer within 4 hours, just to price check. That may be the best you'll get locally, or you may run into an aggressive dealer wanting to sell.

For the tractors themselves, if you're interested in maxing out the FEL spec's, you might consider a CUT. One needs to be cautious with these smaller SCUT's, as pushing the capacity can get you into serious trouble if you aren't careful. I would personally not determine your choice based on capacity, as I think all will be very similar in real world conditions, when used in a safe manor. Rather, I would use price (value, not just cheapest), operator comfort & convenience, refinement of the machine, and dealer support, as determining factors. A thorough test drive of each rig is the best place to start. If you will removing the FEL & backhoe occasionally, practice each rig at the dealer. That alone should provide some clarity to your decision.

Best of luck, have fun shopping!

Great points. I agree. Other than the occasional stump like the one Tractor Dell had a pic of, I prob won't be going over the limits of the scut. I looked at the mf gc1720. Wasn't even close to Kubota in layout or comfort. I also thought the engine ran smoother on the bx, though a little higher (rpm). It's now between JD2025r and Bx23s. Though JD doesn't have one available for a month. At least close.
Thanks for the expertise. I will call around.

New post. My last post I meant it was between the 1025r and Bx23s.

I am frozen between the BX23s and the Jd1025r. The JD is a 2018 model. And they are offering it $500 less ($18,200) than the kubota (18,700). Pro's of the JD:
Better Loader capacity (though about the same with kubota pin-on)
A couple of inches wider
Frame seems more substantial
Liquid cooled transmission (not fan)
Insurance about $17 a month cheaper (Life of the loan, it's about $1200 less than Kubota)
BH dedicated it's own seat. I have heard good and bad about this. Anyone have an opinion?
More HP

JD Cons
No Grapple! Quoted $1800 for third option installed. With Grapple about $5k!
Didn't' seem as refined to me. 4x4 "rod" seemed kind of weak. Gas gauge.
Herky jerky BH and loader

Kubota Pros
Smoother engine.
Loader and BH smoother.
Layout of instruments seems better to me. ( I don't care about treadle pedal or side by side. Makes no difference to me)
The BH is at an angle, making it easier on and off trailers and over stuff
BH removable operation much better. Really smart
I can get 84 months 0% (only 60 with JD) Though this isn't make or break.
Looks cooler to me. (I have a zero turn JD so I have nothing against JD, The Kawasaki engine in the JD has been great

Can any of you speak to any of this? New BH seat? Does it keep you from reaching forward and moving the machine while still on the BH? SSQA on Kubota keep you from doing what you want? Is the BH on the JD any stronger than the Kubota? I know both will be great tractors. And that's the problem. Dealers both good. Been around for ever and right across the street from each other.

JD online - build your own - 24k+. Kubota around 21k. Is the Deere a better value? Goes against everything I've been reading. Oh, and The B series is just too expensive for me to swing (finance committee).

Thanks everybody! This will be my first Tractor! Help!

I chose kubota because they make their stuff. I thought john deer was a rebadged yanmar. That just means they are a middleman. I know the kubota has a kubota engine.
