Thanks Mark. No combo deal YET.
Glad you like them. Looks like BXpanded had the same idea and are releasing a set of pads. Maybe a good time for Harry to introduce his. Nice of him to PM telling me so. Sure is a big coincidence that he's got a set of pads coming out when I show mine. I just find it amusing that the Kubota BX has been out for I don't know how long with this stabilizer pad problem so I design a different set and within the same week BXpanded do to. :confused3:
When I saw Paul's mod, I emailed him to let him know we had pads ready for release as soon as our revised website is finished. I didn't want him to think we were copying his idea. I know from experience, that can be irritating. For those that might be skeptical, I've attached a picture of the pad. I think with all the dust on the part you can tell it wasn't built yesterday. I told Paul that I didn't want to Hijack his thread, but since he's invited us to, I'll offer a preview.
As Paul said, the problem with the small outrigger pads has been obvious for a long time. We took a different approach than did Paul with the pads themselves. Ours are similar to the OEM pads, but are 60% larger. We had a reason for that, but I won't elaborate here.
In addition to the pads sinking in the ground, we knew that when operating across a slope, the downhill outrigger was nearly under the tractor. That offered little stability if it was necessary to swing the BH to the downhill side. Also, if it was necessary to straddle a ditch, the outriggers just wouldn't reach. As part of this project, we went farther and created extendable outriggers. We intend to offer a soft insert for the pad, but frankly, I haven't been able to source the material yet.
Since we sell this stuff commercially, it takes a while to make sure we have all the details covered. We test parts hard, build production fixtures, set up material and parts suppliers and devise packaging if necessary. Since this is our business, we have lots of new products in various stages of development.
Paul builds nice stuff. I think we do also. It's always a pleasure to see nice workmanship no matter whose work it is.
