Kubota BX25-D "Sure-Footer"

Okay... knock it off Paul! This was exactly my problem this summer sinking in freshly moved dirt trying to remove stumps with the BH. I was cursing because I thought the pads needed a bigger footprint on disturbed soil. I was throwing rocks down, plywood scraps, etc. as I slid and plunged into unstable positions. Also the dirt would pick up on retraction and would foul the pivot points.

Now you throw this out. I guess I need to ask if there is a combo deal available (Kwik Con and Sure Feet). You are killing me! But...:thumbsup:

Thanks Mark. No combo deal YET.

Glad you like them. Looks like BXpanded had the same idea and are releasing a set of pads. Maybe a good time for Harry to introduce his. Nice of him to PM telling me so. Sure is a big coincidence that he's got a set of pads coming out when I show mine. I just find it amusing that the Kubota BX has been out for I don't know how long with this stabilizer pad problem so I design a different set and within the same week BXpanded do to. :confused3:

No disrespect to BXpanded as they have some nice products including the Piranha Tooth Bar that I love, but I am sure that your many followers including myself eagerly await your introductions. The intelligent thought and quality of your designs are obvious! Now please activate that 'Click Here - Order Now' button!!! :D Remember I'm in line and I am looking around and I'm not only one. :salute:

Nice video . Have you thought about rubber pads on the outriggers .

I agree with Dragoneggs, your work is top notch man. I wish I had the press you have.

Do you mind if I steal your cross design? The L3600's backhoe likes to slide sideways and your design looks to fix that problem efficiently.

Thanks Mark. I've always appreciated your support. I've actually done four more mods that I'm not showing until I'm ready to launch plus I need to get the legalities sucured as well for them. I now have the right team in place for that. I'm moving slow yet steady and that's all that matters.

Thanks Kevin. Oh yes. Rubber Pads are the next step for the Sure-Footers. :)

Thank you for your support. By all means get those cross sections put under the pads. They will make a difference. I guess the press your referring to is the iron worker. It's a great tool to have in the shop for sure.

When I saw Paul's mod, I emailed him to let him know we had pads ready for release as soon as our revised website is finished. I didn't want him to think we were copying his idea. I know from experience, that can be irritating. For those that might be skeptical, I've attached a picture of the pad. I think with all the dust on the part you can tell it wasn't built yesterday. I told Paul that I didn't want to Hijack his thread, but since he's invited us to, I'll offer a preview.

As Paul said, the problem with the small outrigger pads has been obvious for a long time. We took a different approach than did Paul with the pads themselves. Ours are similar to the OEM pads, but are 60% larger. We had a reason for that, but I won't elaborate here.

In addition to the pads sinking in the ground, we knew that when operating across a slope, the downhill outrigger was nearly under the tractor. That offered little stability if it was necessary to swing the BH to the downhill side. Also, if it was necessary to straddle a ditch, the outriggers just wouldn't reach. As part of this project, we went farther and created extendable outriggers. We intend to offer a soft insert for the pad, but frankly, I haven't been able to source the material yet.

Since we sell this stuff commercially, it takes a while to make sure we have all the details covered. We test parts hard, build production fixtures, set up material and parts suppliers and devise packaging if necessary. Since this is our business, we have lots of new products in various stages of development.

Paul builds nice stuff. I think we do also. It's always a pleasure to see nice workmanship no matter whose work it is.

Harry
