Kubota Cab vs JD Cab

I've done some pretty heavy shoppping over the last couple of weeks and worked my new tractor purchase down to basically two : JD 4320 or the Kubota L4740. There is not much difference in the actual cost, the JD being slightly cheaper because of their $1,000 dollar rebate compared to Kubota's $300. I've sat in the JD and drove it around and like it a lot. The Kubota dealer didn't have a L4740 on the lot.
The thing is, I'm getting one with a cab this time (getting old) and the JD was an open station. I've no particular color preference although I have a better relationship with the Kubota dealer so the decision will come down to which has the better cab. So all you JD and Kubota cab drivers out there, what do you think of the merits of the two cabs, their ergomomics and especially the A/C and fitering systems? I would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Very new to the list, but I can say I just ordered my JD4320 and I'll tell you that the cab is a little smaller, but the blower for the AC was MUCH better in the JD. Also, I thought it was much quieter then either the K or the NH.
I test drove a 4520, which is the same frame and cab and it was great! Helped me make my final decision.

You can get a DB rating on both cabs. Check the DB rating to determine which is quieter. Also check the seats as they are a huge factor in comfort.

The Kubota cab has the ability to shut out side air out for dusty conditions.

By the DB rating, the Kubota is quieter. Also a bit larger, and has more standard features like two steps, mirrors, etc which are optional on the green tractors. By closing off the outside air you can also cool the cab faster and too a lower temp than the Deere which does not have a recirculate function.

Now that's interesting!!!! I was kinda leaning towards the JD because I wanted a change. We already have 2 Kubotas, one at the house and one at the farm but the A/C is one of the main reasons for getting a new tractor for the house. This Texas heat is starting to affect me ..... a lot. It looks as if it is going to be orange again. Going to make the final decision in the next two weeks. Keep you posted.

Are you shopping at Rose County Kubota? They seem to be well run and always have parts on hand. I was curious why the stoped selling New Holland and Massey Furuguson's. Any idea why?

The New Holland dealer seems to have more and more tractors on his lot at the new location. He's over on 69 between the Loop and the Trade Days.

I've never had a cab tractor, but on my last vacation to South Dakota, Steph and I drove through allot of farm country, and there were only two types of tractors that we saw over and over again. Deere and New Holland. It was so rare to see red or orange that it became something that we really noticed.

The regional differences continue to amaze me. In central Michigan I would say 80-90% of farm tractors are Deere. The rest are a mix of older Masseys, older and newer Agco Allis, and Fords (but few if any of the New Holland after they split from Ford). Kubota and IH are nearly absent from farm fields, even though there are two big nearby dealers for them that have farm-size tractors from each in stock.

I'm not trying to say anything about quality, FYI, and below 40hp Kubota has a significant market share here, though I think JD dominates even that size as well in my area.

No Eddie, I was shopping at Ballard's Tractor in Alba for Kubota and AG-Power in Mineola for Deere. I also shopped New Holland in Lindale. Those are the nearest 3 to the house. The nearest Massey dealer is in Longview. I've used a cab tractor at the farm but this will be the first one with a working A/C system. I'm really looking forward to that and that is why it is so important to me. The difficult thing is that neither dealer has a cab version of the model I'm interested in on their lot, hence the query here.

Z - around here I would say that Kubota has at least 60% of the market up to 100 hp, above that it is almost exclusively Deere with some Case but not many. The New Holland dealership opened in Lindale, about 12 miles away, a few months ago but hasn't made much of an impact to date.

I was in talking to the Deere dealer again today and, with the State Fair promotion they are running at the moment, they are significantly cheaper than Kubota but they can't (for some reason) give me a grapple or a grapple bucket on the model that I am intersted in and their delivery date is the 18th of December!!!!!. Strange ......

I'm going back to talk to the Kubota dealer at the beginning of next week and hopefully make a decision and plonk my money down the week after. I may be overworking this problem. My wife says I should just pick the one I like best and go with it. You gotta love her. Me, I still like to think that I'm going to end up with the best bang for my buck but to be honest, I think I could be happy with either one. The saga continues .......
