kubota Canopies

Dealer wanted $450 for the plastic one for my M6800. I've got a 4x8 piece of aluminum I'm gonna make one from. I'll put a piece of foam insulation board under it to cut down on heat and sound. Now for my B7800 I picked up a plastic dumpster lid they removed. Almost perfect size and has a decent shape to it, just need to make a frame to support it. I saw one made from aluminum checker plate that looked nice.

When I got my used L3400DT it had mounted on it what appeared to be a Chinese made fiberglass canopy. Because it made such a horrible shaking/rattle sound with the foldable ROPS I ended up removing it and I have been discouraged from replacing it with a better quality one perhaps made by Kubota. Has anyone else had this shaking/rattle sound with their Kubota canopies and foldable ROPS?

I like the fiberglass canopy myself. here is my L5740 with it on and with it off. Takes about 20 minutes to remove and I do that when I am working under the trees.

I just installed the Sun Guard Tractor / Mower Canopy Sunshades yesterday and for the $269, A great deal... Solid, good looking, Nice paint, and FedEx in 3-4 days....

Only recommendation would to place some foam/rubber bewteen the mounting rails and the canopy itself to eliminate vibration....I'm going to pick some up this weekend.

Can be removed in 2 minutes or so with wrenches, Or loosen 1/2 the bolts and hinged and the rops folded in about the same time... I'm going to make some quick release bolts/nut for it....(like a bicycle front wheel nut)
