I love that color, red, green, yellow, blue or ?? And that's the very best tractor.
About 35 years ago I rented a mid size green tractor with a FEL. No it was not a JD. Even managed to lay it on its side.

Soon after that I bought a "Rounder" ( For runner to the Bob Cat.) It was very small, but would do big boy work. It was Yellow. Had many toys that fit on it. Including a tilt trailer. It was a thrill to back off that trailer.

Shortly after that bought an old MF, full size hard working old gas job. It was red.

When I bought this place I rented a JD-210 with a FEL. Worked it hard for about a week. No it was not green, it was yellow.

Then I started shopping for a tractor. Every used one that I looked at was more "Used" than I wanted. I wanted a tractor to work, not one to work on.

I had spent some time looking at Orange ones. Liked them and they seamed real good. Was pretty sure I would get one.

The local "Blue" (NH) dealer had a TC-45 with a 190 hours on it and it had a hydraulic Gannon already mounted. Throw in a Back Hoe and a Post hole digger with down pressure and I was a happy camper.

Problems: A back hoe hose started weeping. dealer sent a man out and he made up new hoses. Late on Sat It would not crank or start. After a weekend of worry, Early Monday I called the dealer, talked to a service man, Check "Seat Switch", work it by hand a few times. It fired right up. Battery died one day, while working.

It now has about 1,300 hours, has loaded several hundred yards of sand, gravel, rock and lots of trash.

So pick your color and enjoy it.

I'm new to tractors. How come you choose Kubota over John Deere? I'm not trying to start a war like Ford vs. Chevy, I honestly don't know very much and I'm trying to learn more. I have heard that Kubota is as good as John Deere but around 10% cheaper for the equivalent tractor, I'm not sure if that is true or not. In my area, I have Kubota and John Deere dealers and both have good reputations.

First let me say that if my old JD 4105 had a cab I'd still own it. It's a very good CUT. On the other hand, JD didn't make it easy for me stick with them in my search for a cabbed 40-45 hp tractor. I'll keep it simple and list some of the reasons....

1) Price! I my area JD are more expensive than Kubota. I don't have my notes as to how much more but I can tell you they are.

2)Lack of Cab in my noted hp range. You have to jump up to 48hp to get into a cab. JD dropped the ball in this area!

3)Lack of standard equipment. Mirrors/Telestopic lower link ends. Options are very expensive.

4)Arrogant dealers!

5) Loader mount. Don't like the way JD mount the loader to the tractor frame. Kubota, Massey, Case/New Holland all have pocket mounts. A much better design IMO.

These are a few of the reasons I chose Kubota over JD. ;)

What you want the tractor to do and what kind of support from the dealer you get makes a big difference.
I bought my JD 3038 last year and have not had a minutes trouble with it.
I got a brother-in-law deal on my tractor and implements. My brother-in-law owned the dealership. He has since sold the dealership but still is their head salesman.
Last week my tach quit working so he sent a truck to pick it up and replace the dash under warrenty.

Kubota works for me because of the weight to power ratio. A john deere tractor is much heavier for the same gross hp & pto hp. I need ample power with a light footprint, that is kubotas claim to fame!

I looked at JD, Kubota, MF, and briefly at Mahindra and Kioti. Kubota was the least expensive for the tractor that met my needs, but to be honest, the other brand's models that I was using for comparison were closer to the B series Kubota than the BX I bought. What really sold me was the extra power of the 2660 engine to run that 60" deck and the 0%-60mo financing. I like the dealer too, that's a plus. I was coming from a JD LT-180 with a 48" deck and a 17hp Kawasaki engine that bogged in thick grass, so I wanted as much power as I could reasonably have powering the deck. I'm looking forward to trying it out this summer.

I looked for almost a year before I purchased my JD 3032E
don't think that just from brand name to brand name makes the only difference Dealership to dealership plays a big roll too. I wouldn't buy a drain plub from my local JD dealer but found a dealer that cares and took darn good care of me and was only about 10 miles in a different direction
I'm a big guy and fit much better on a JD than anything of that size and with 72 months @ 0% who could go wrong:licking:

Back in 2004 when I was looking for my first CUT I immediately began researching JD's. Then went to visit my closest JD dealer. Bad bad experience. I was treated like a leper at a Range Rover dealership. I could not even get their attention despite telling them I was going to buy a tractor within a week. Never looked at JD again just based on that. I do not appreciate shabby treatment. When I finally met the Kubota dealer I told them how I had come to be there. He laughed and said that that dealership sends more business his way and he's just fine with it. So I became an orange guy by chance.

Dealerships have different customer bases. You can tell by walking in the door. Are you greeted by shelf after shelf of parts? Or shiny new "lawn sized" machines? Is there a parts department? A service department? Or is it all window walls and "Sales Areas", like a high end car dealership? Are there lots of used tractors, balers, discs, outside? Or do they have lots of ATVs and zero turn mowers, but few-if any- 3 point attachments?

You can buy a good tractor from either place, so focus on the "deal" rather than the "dealer".

Day:

Strongly disagree. A tractor is a commodity. The one dealer A is selling is exactly the same as the one dealer B is selling. Just like car dealerships. If I walk into Dealer A and get treated poorly I know there are other dealers with the same exact product. Unless you live somewhere where there is only one dealer within close proximity. I always vote with my wallet and if you're not treated friendly up front when they want your $$ how are they going to treat you down the road when you need service and perhaps help with a warranty claim? I don't need my butt kissed, but also don't need to feel like I'm "not worthy". I tend to dress in old jeans and golf shirts so maybe I don't fit the JD profile.
