I'm the slowest person around to decide anything, so the extension of the 0% promotion for 36 months is good news to me . . . and I'm sure many others. Details here /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Your not the slowest Terry, but you could rate #2 after me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Besides, slow generally means you are not just going to throw your money at the first tractor you see. I know I am looking at ALL options. Good luck! (And yes, I too am glad they extended)

Hold on there! I've been at this for quite a while too. A week or two ago I finally decided that if I made a choice before June 30th, it would be rushed, so I intentionally decided to not bug the dealer for a while until after the 30th passed, figuring the 0% financing would be extended. Now I have another two months.

When I first started down this path, I worked with the closest dealer. Told him I expected 15% off, and he quoted me MSRP on everything. This was about 6 weeks ago (I actually started looking about a month before that). I didn't even bother calling him back. Since then I've been working with a dealer much further away since he quoted me almost 15% off without any pressure applied on my part.

I didn't think there was any point on going back to the closer dealer with the quote. However, he called me just a couple of days ago to see what I thought of his quote. I told him where things were at. He said they usually always sell at MSRP, but if I faxed him the quote he could probably match it. I did, but haven't heard back yet. I suspect even if they do match it I could go back to the other dealer and do even better. In any case, dragging my feet will probably end up paying off, not to mention that I have already learned so much more the past month that I have avoided making some mistakes over what I would have originally purchased, especially in terms of attachments.

Guys, Kubota sweetened the deal a little more by not requiring any down payment. Zero down, zero interest for 36 months. That is a pretty darn good deal. Now if I could just get my dealer to drop his prices a little we would be all set.

Sounds like a great deal to me! If I were in the market to buy another Kubota, now would be the time. Interest rates have been very competitive among the manufacturers lately. Hope it stays like that for a few years. Good luck on everyone's tractor purchases!

Mike,

I noticed the "no down payment" change also, but I knew you would want to have a chance to post something also! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Does the "no down payment required" mean I have to buy a more expensive tractor now??? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Terry

p.s. I really have no excuses from the dealer standpoint . . . I have a good ole boy, small town, small dealer 20 miles away that will beat most prices I see posted on TBN! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

By Kubota's reasoning - You would be crazy not to!

It is funny you mention this. I am trying to buy a B7610. My dealer is pushing a B7800. His reasoning - You do not have to put anything down so why not buy the bigger tractor!

The Kioti dealer I talked to this weekend (he was nice but very opinionated) told me that "they", with they meaning the tractor manufacturers, get your money one way or the other. He indicated that if you were to buy a tractor with the 0% financing deal you would pay a higher initial price on the tractor than if you self financed or paid cash. I got the impression he was hinting at Kubota's famous 0% financing but I can't really be sure. Does anyone know if the Kubota dealers offer different prices for cash vs. the Kubota financing deal?

You can be sure there is a difference. If you ask, they may even tell you what the difference would be. Make a deal suggesting that you need financing and then ask the cash price. If it's the same I'd be surprised. Kioti offered the $300 rebate. I got $300 off when I said no financing needed. Could I have gotten it just by haggling? Probably, but I felt I was treated fairly and they had the offer, so that was good enough for me. Good Luck....... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

um, I hate to tell you... but there is no difference. You pay a UCC to file the financing paper work, but thats it.

I just got a quote from two dealers in Central NY ...for a B7800, FEL, & BH.

I told each dealer that I would be putting 1/2 down ($11,000) and financing the other 1/2 for 3 yrs at 0%.

I then asked if they could give me a better deal if I paid for it all in cash.

They both told me that they could not do any better on the price if I paid in cash.

Now I am thinking of financing 100% for three yrs.

almost everyone does the financing. Why give the money to someone else when you can take out a CD or somthing and earn some interest off the money.

And what do you think this dealer will say when you call him on that lie?

I pay cash when I buy, but that is just because I don't like owing people money. But I always negotiate pretty hard and I found out that I could finance for the same price as a cash deal when it came to the Kubota. I also found the same thing when I bought the New Holland. And the prices I paid were dirt cheap compared to some of the stuff I've seen posted here, so I know I got good deals.

It amazes me what some dealers say (and actually think they get away with). In this case that dealer got caught in a lie.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll be sure to expect the same price regardless of which payment/financing method I choose to pursue.

As you can tell I'm fairly new to TBN but have been reading/researching/observing for quite a bit lately and have dug up a wealth of information. Thanks to all who actively participate and share their knowledge!

After I go see the Kubota dealer on Saturday I'll probably post a question or comment regarding my current tractor search.

Regards to all.

Gosh your a patient person to wait until the w/e for your tractor quest.

Best of luck in your search. Remember to breath deeply before negotiations set in.

Wonder how many actually use 0%. The average person with a home mortgage, car payment, and saving in a tax deferred retirement plan probably can’t afford the higher payment of 3yrs vs. 6yrs.

Considering the number of machines sitting unsold, I would rather see a bigger rebate.

Who's your dealer in So Arkansas?
I need a good deal!

/ Kubota Credit 0% Extended!! #19
Neil, you ask why not take the 0%???

I did not take the 0% financing because I did not want the financing paperwork filed with my home state. My farm is in PA which is where I bought and will exclusively use my tractor. I live in Maryland. If I had taken the 0% the paperwork would have been filed in Maryland and the state comptroller would want me to pay state sales tax. I saved 5% by not taking the 0%. Anybody know of any CD’s paying more than 5% these days?

So, I live in Maine. New Hampshire is tax free. If I went to purchase a tractor in New Hampshire I would get it tax free. If I took financing with Kubota it would be filed so that Maine would get it and want their %?
(I actually am doing business((talking)) with a dealer in Maine so I can start a good relationship, but didn't know that about using their financing)
