Kubota has been terrible about warranty from what I've seen. I know alot of guys that have had problems with warranty work from kubota.

I had a similar thing happen - on my B7300 the coolant drain valve is on the side of the engine and is basically exposed. I was 'hogging and some blackberry bushes opened the valve and drained the coolant. Tractor decided to stop running - on mine there isn't a light, just a "whistle", and with no coolant it won't make noise.

But the dealer came out, helped me fill it back up with coolant and it didn't seem to cause any trouble. I'm sure it wasn't good for the motor, but it has been chugging away just fine for several hundred hours since. No charge for the service call, either.

I had another problem with it - the steering column decided to come loose. The dealer picked the tractor up, fixed the problem with a new column and it has been fine ever since. I was happy with Kubota's warranty but I think that a lot of the credit is because I have a good dealership.

Richard, funny, your post is completely the opposite of my experiences and the folks I have around me with Kubotas. I've had wonderful experiences with, if you even want to call it warranty work from Kubota. One call about my loader valve having issues and a new loader valve was shipped, no questions asked. 3 days later it arrived. If I put it on myself, they would pay me, otherwise I could bring it to any dealer for free installation. Yeah, I'm very satisfied with Kubotas warranty work. My next tractor will be a Kubota. Maybe folks here are just treated better. Rat...

I really want to go all the way back up to Markie's post. I realise the warranty on the New Holland was 2 years and 3 on the power train. I was just trying to pick out an earlier post that stated New Holland was so poor on their warranty.

As far as someone watching the gauges. There is a lot of things that make idiot lights not work and even gauges. First if the sensor is in the water it won't read the temperature of the block. Second if it is an idiot light and the sun is hitting it right you won't see it. My whole thing is there is a tractor that is only 7 months old. This should not have happened and when one says bumper to bumper that means everything to me. Yes one should watch gauges but we all know that doesn't happen like it should. I love my boat, it has a siren and it will scare the crap right out of you. That should be something on these little motors also. After driving trucks (old trucks) for many years you learn to watch gauges, you learn to listen for noise changes but you still can miss them when they hit the red zone. I still think if Kubota is as good as everyone says they are they should fix it.

This was not like it was a lack of maintenance or anything, but maybe even poor manufacturing on Kubota's part.

just my 2 cents. I guess I get frustrated when manufactures don't back up what they say.

Murph, thats just it, they don't say bumper to bumper warranty. It's really quite clear in the warranty statement. Things like tire punctuers, dents, normal wear items, etc. are not part of the warranty. I think that it will have to be seen if it was a loose clamp, a faulty clamp etc and most importantly, if knowing it was off, he continued to drive it, none of which are clear from the post. I'm all for him getting a new motor as long as it was completely unvoidable on his part. As I mentioned to Richard, I've had super results from Kubota's warranty, many other on this board have mentioned the same. My experience with our NH 2120 used at the orchard is another whole can of worms and may very well be more of a reflection on our dealer then on NH. The popularity of Kubota would surely be dead by now if their warranty service sucked. Rat...

I guess it all comes down to the Dealer and what he is willing to do for his customer under warranty. I have never had a problem getting things covered under New Hollands warranty program I even got an engine replaced on a TC35 because all the water drained out while the customer was using his backhoe from a busted radiator hose. They replaced it complete no questions asked.

This brings up a good point.. On many of our dig deisel trucks, there are buzzer alarms for some of the gauges that measure critical systems.. like air pressure ( brakes! ).. and when it drops below 'x' the buzzer goes off... perhaps we need something like this on our tractors.. I've even seen a setup for oil pressure too.. was incorporated into a murphy switch... you start the engine with a bypass on the cutout switch held in.. when oil pressure comes up, it keeps the swith in and you release the bypass... if you loose oil pressure, it killes the engine.
There's got to be something similar for all our gauge applications.. We just need to start looking.. sounds like a good job for an electronic gauge.. electromechanically.. the circuit would not be hard to fabricate...

Hey Spencer200-send me an email so I can get your address. Thanks Lloyd-

Can you elaberate on the smooth plastic outlet? All radiator hose connections I have ever seen, have a bulge at the end to help seal and prevent any hose sliding off. With the bulge and tight radiator clamp, it would be next to impossible for a twig or branch to slide it off. Puncture, yes, but not slide it off. If it is just a straight smooth pipe, then I would agree that it is a design problem. Why would Kubota change such a proven design?

Trucks w/ air brakes have low air pressure alarms.

You get to listen to it unitil the pressure builds up enough to release the brakes. If you're on the road and the buzzer sounds, it gets your attention real quick. Buzzers/annunciators are used in industrial plant control systems to warn operators even though there's plenty of gauges, readouts, etc. The sudden sound works.

Something like that for water temperature and oil pressure would be great. I'm not sure about sensing a total loss of coolant if the sending unit is for monitoring temperature.

Re: Trucks w/ air brakes have low air pressure alarms.

That would have to be a different sensor... I can think of many conductive fluid sensors that are used in wastewater applications that could be adapted.
Also, an oil temp sensor may be of benefit..... or even low oil shutoff... or alarm anyway.. much of our heavy equipment have them.. I think many consumer grade trucks have them too.. I vaguely recall my dodge ram having a trans oil temp light...
