Kubota does not honor warranty- MX 5000

IMHO, he should have droppe dthe loader bucket.. that would have weighted his rear again.. even without down pressure on the bucket.

As far as driving on slopes... can't imagine why he wasn't in 4wd if he had it... It is so easy to pop in... he could have taken advantage of compression, etc on that geared machine.

Dropping the bucket would have been the difference. It was an issue of forgetting to pop it back in 4WD after taking it out because of the concrete driveway he had just been on. Insurance covered the repairs, Kubota was interested in the ROPS which as you can see is bent some. The HD Gannon boxscraper was bent to the right about 12" with what appeared to be almost perfect bends in the 1/2" plate steel that make up the sides. It took two tow trucks 4 hours to retrieve it. Both rear tires were flat and the right rim bent severely.

I really appreciate all of the comments, positive and negative regarding my still unrepaired MX 5000. I was not online to respond due to computer problems. I will gladly talk about the problem with anyone who will listen.

First I am not a novice operator, but have sevral tractors I operate in a tractor service business. The KUbota is the newest of them. We do stumpgrinding, brush chipping, brush hogging, grading, etc.

I happened to be operating this tractor when the radiator hose was knocked off. It happened within 30 seconds. The engine lugged down as if the brush hog was loaded up, I looked back at the hog and then around at the guages, while shutting down. There was no green steam cloud.

Neither my dealer or Kubota in TX or CA has offered in any help other than a "discount price" on a new engine.

I have talked to many tractor operators who find it incredulous that a hose that was properly connected could be pushed of by a stick. My lawyer does not think so either.

Thanks again for all the comments. LHW

Can you send us some pics? I am really curious how this happened and which hose? The lower one. I have an MX5000 and have been hogging some serious stuff and in places that might be hard to get it out of if this happens to me.

In one of my only 2 experiences hiring a tractor guy a similar thing happened.

Older, obviously experienced operator was brush hogging for 1.5 hours when his Ford 1720? coughed, blew black smoke and died. Started and died again and just before I was going to tow him with my truck he got it to limp 50 yards to his truck. It sounded terrible and ran rough as could be.

The only thing we could see was a hose was off a fitting on the underside of the tractor from brush hogging. Machine was full of oil but was blowing from some sort of breather or vent if I remember.

The guy left with a worried look and I told him to come back next week when he got it fixed. Never heard from him so I feared the worst for his machine.

This guy aslo said he had no warning and I can say the machine sounded fine to my untrained ear right up til' the end.
