My new BX2230 had all of 6 hours on it when the fuel line was severed by...a stick. That's right a stick, and not a very big one. Luckily the rip was near a connection point and there was enough slack for me to just cut off the bad part and reconnect, but a lot of diesel fuel got dumped on me and the ground in the process.
While I was under there poking around I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of very exposed lines. I guess they wouldn't be so exposed if I had a mid-mount mower, but I didn't buy a tractor to mow the lawn. In fact, I don't have a lawn. Any thoughts on attaching a metal plate -- or even a piece of wood -- to the mid-mount brackets to protect this creature's inordinately soft underbelly?
