The NH Boomers are also in the 2600-2800 RPM range. Don't remember the RPM range of the JD units.

No, I realize that... the poster was asking about the "Larger Utility" size tractors engines and "Not" the compacts...

Across the board, most of the compact tractors are roughly the same range of 2600-2800 rpm... the utilities are much lower...

My older Masseys {and most older utility/farm tractors} are/were 1600-2000 rpm... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ooops, Sorry. I should have gone back to read more of the thread. I assumed, wrongly/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif, that the topic was compacts not full size utility. My parents have a MF 275 which runs much much slower as you mentioned.

Our school district has a 60" Yazoo ztr with a 21 hp 3 cyl Kubota gas engine. I love to hear it run, deep throaty sound and runs great. Only problem they have had with the engine is one of the coaches burnt the original engine up because he did not keep the grass out of the radiator. replaced with new engine and equiped wirh safety shut off on engine temp and oil pressure. Every thing ok now
