Kubota Extended Warranty worth purchasing?

Not sure about Kubota extended warranty, but I bought one for my last car and it was a total rip off. Every time there was a problem the dealer would have to wait for an adjuster to come look at what the mechanic claims is wrong. They deny the claim, I call and raise a ruckus, they say oops they made a mistake, they should have paid it, then they delay telling the dealer to go ahead with the work. Meanwhile I don't have a car for 3 days. They basically just grind me down for every claim to the point I don't even want to submit a claim.

The Kubota Insurance will cover the fallen limb after deductable but I've never heard of an Extended Warranty covering that kind of claim. My Homeowners will probably cover the fallen limb on my property, after the deductable.

good to know. was that $200 the cost for something covered by the extended warranty (ie. the $800 repair expense), or was it the deductible for an insurance claim ?

for me, the dealer would be an hour away, and that is also a factor that I need to consider when considering my tractor purchase and ext warranty.

The $200 was a deductible...My dealer was 1.5 hours away and well worth it. Now a normal car, it is a rip off.

the insurance is a much better deal than the extended warranty. The odds of the operator screwing up the tractor are much higher than the tractor breaking for no reason.

Don't leave home without it. KTAC insurance pays for mistakes you make, vandalism, damages caused by mother nature and even stupidity.
Extended warranty only covers the tractor parts that fail due to normal operation (whatever that is).

A lot of extended warranties are really insurance policies issued by third party companies that pay fat commissions to the dealers that sell them. Calling them a rip off is being kind. I do not know if the Kubota version is in that group or is actually issued by the company themselves. Either way, I wouldn't and didn't touch it when I bought my RTV.

I used to have a job that required me to sell service contracts to my service customers. I sold a lot of them. I have never bought one myself on anything. I may take a couple of thousand dollar hit on an Electrolux fridge :thumbdown: that we bought not too long ago, but I've saved way more than that over the years by not buying extended warranties and service contracts.

Insurance coverage on ANYTHING is an indication of a persons risk tolerance. It is also based on risk/reward ratio. I've got KTAC insurance for $264/year for coverage up to $22,000 on my tractor. That is a good risk/reward ratio in my opinion. Especially when it payed for a complete engine replacement after only 1 year of coverage.
