Buying Advice Kubota for NH woodlands

Loggers were at our place today, so I discovered just about the max load. If I bounced the FEL it would bounce the rear tires off the ground.

I normally add rear ballast (box blade) when using the front loader for heavy stuff. But one time I had to go down the street to fill in a large pothole on our (then new) main road, and didn't bother to hook up the box. I scooped up a load of crusher run, and as is habit, jiggled the loader lever to level off the pile and minimize spillage when driving out. Well, that made the tractor rear end bounce so bad I had a stiff neck the next morning. The small L series have such a short wheelbase, it doesn't take a lot to get the rear end hopping.

Like Baby Grand pointed out, the front axle can be your weak point in moving heavy front loads... In years of reading posts on TbN, I have seen posts about damage caused by concentrating all the weight on the front- it becomes the balance center, and bouncing can break things. If your end seems too light, it is. Did you get filled tires? In any event, beautiful property! The winter will give you a good view of just what your land is like. Now, for a splitter?

Stopped by the DR Power factory store in Merrimack today and bought a K28 Pro - a kinetic energy model with two 55 lb flywheels. :dance1:

I want to get a large shackle to put in the drawbar to hook chain to. Anyone know what size needed?
