Sorry 'bout the double post, but I didn't get much comment from the one in the Kubota forum.

I have a lot of trouble using my rear mount, primarily because I'm a fairly large guy (not hugely fat, just, well, big) and I get lots of back pain and nexk pain from turning around to drive. I figure its a combination of my size, a smallish tractor (L3010 HST), and maybe a weak back.

In any event, I can only seem to manage if I unbelt and kinda of swing a leg over the right wheel. Not a safe alternative.

So, I'm thinking of buying a Kubota front mount blower. The problem is, nobdy seems to have data on it. Kubota Canada and US just refer to it in an implement chart. I've found one we reference, which, besides a small picture, doesn't give much more data (not even the weight).

So I'm hoping somebody out there in TBN land has experience with, or actually has, the beast. Any comments?

Thanks

I have a 62" kutoba blower on a L3830. I just used it today after the 5" of snow that we got last night. I don't know how much is weights but you will surely love not having to look backwards. I run my mid PTO ar 1600 rpm's which will throw the snow about 70'. My manual (tractor) says do not go over 2000rpm's with the mid pto. The 1600RPM's equates to about 2100rpm's on the tractor tach. It is not hard to take off or put on. I leave mine on all winter, have even been down in the woods with it on skidding logs. It has about 8" of ground clearence.Get one you will love it. Oh, almost forgot I am 6'-5" tall and the tractor did not have enought leg room so I raised the seat 2". Just unbolted the carriage from the sheet metal and put 2 pieces of 2x2x1/8 square tube under it and then bolted everything back up.Gave me a whole new outlook on things.

I coulda sworn I wrote a follow up to yer post - and I didn't even swear, so I don't know what happened to it.

Thanks for relating your experiences. What happens to traction with the front mount? It probably adds weight to the front wheels, because its all the way up front, unlike the FEL. Do you have problems getting stuck? Do you add weight to the back?

I'm a bit concerned, because I cut a trail downhill to a pond for skating. At least with the FEL I can push myself back up.

In any event, you sound satisifed, which is good because it sounds like you've got the blower I'm thinking of.
