kubota g5200

It might drag it down a little now that you say that. I need to do some more research on around as close if not dead on to 48 inch cut. You can find tons of the 60 inch decks.

What model decks are there for the 48 inch decks?

I found a fairly fresh RCK48-15BX (BX1500) on from CL for $300, early last winter, which I got as insurance.
The gear ratio is really close, so blade tip speed should be good, and I really like the double V belt & pulleys - a much stronger arrangement.

Plan A: Swap it for my G5200's RC44-G Frankendeck, whenever the remaining steel that holds the weld & braze patches together goes all big bang on me.
I'd need to flip the gearbox around (fore to aft) and add/modify the tractor mounting brackets.
Then there's the PTO shafting - I'd need to get creative with that, as they're different sizes.

Plan B:
The perimeter, caster frames & tractor mounts on the RC44-G are still solid, so another option would be to cut the rotten top off.
Then cut the perimeter into 2 or 3 pieces to fit the RCK48-15BX top and center distances, retaining the RC44-G's mounts. More complicated, but might fit up to the tractor better.

I've seen where there are a bunch of decks with the gearbox towards the rear tires. Should be easy enough to flip the gearbox forwards.

I think what you've got going seems like a good idea and can be made to work.

I've thought of just getting the spindles and gearbox for the g5200 and just getting any deck and just fabricate till I make it work.

Well I guess I'm not going to put a deck under my g5200. I just inherited a kubota b5200 with a belly mower. It all worked out in the end I guess. I will use my g5200 to pull a trailer around the yard I guess. The b5200 is in real good shape. 1 small rust hole in the deck. But going to take it apart and rebuild spindles and fix and stop all rust on it now before there's no deck at all.

There's a little bit of wiggling on the front pto shaft where the deck attaches. I'm ordering all new bearings for the complete unit.

I put the battery there after replacing the original equipment style battery too many times, I put a group 24P out front and that was the end of my battery problems. It was good ballast when I used my fully mounted sprayer on the back. Shortly after I bought it in 1993 I put the hydraulic deck lift kit on it and bought a bagger for it also. The 44" deck in heavy grass and the bagger, made it snort a bit. I bought a BX2200 to mow with in 2002, nice machine, but the G5200 was more comfortable to drive. As you can see in the picture, I kinda like Kubotas.
Old Post, but thought I'd try. What bagger system did you put on your g5200
