Paul:

Have you seen those long spike lug nut covers some of the truckers put on their rigs?

You could put a set of those on your rig and slice moose off at the legs.

Hey I got a smaller version of them on the Mustang! As for the tractor and moose, why do you think I put the forks on it ? Yep for the moose

4Shorts: I got to look at adding vertilcal stack....but... since I use a front blade for snow removal there is a bracket that uses a large pin just under the loader frame bolts on the side of the tractor. I dont know what kind of clearance you have on yours.

Is your plow attached to the FEL? Not sure what pin your referring to. Snap a few photos. It will be easier to understand.

The way my system is on my tractor it only takes up the space of the four bolt holes on the lower left FEL attachment that wern't used on mine anyway. As it stands now the stack or it's hardware has nothing that comes remotely close to anything else on the tractor.

The black bracket hangs down, for mid pins for front blade

I use a blade attached to the tractors FEL so that wouldn't be a concern in my case. I've never seen your system before. That being said I snapped a photo so you can judge it for yourself. If you did build the conversion you could make allowances for that issue easy enough.

Your welcome. As I mentioned before you can make that area fit your needs for the pin. I only designed mine that way to add to it's strength.

Paul, I tried sending you a PM, but you're not set up for them, so I'll post it here. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your mods. Every time I see a picture of your tractor, the one thing that really stands out to me is the exhaust mod, so much so that I had to go and scope out my tractor to see what I could come up with. I think this would be a fairly simple mod for me, but I have a few concerns and questions that I'd love to bounce off you.

I have a Kioti DK45 cab. They've made it pretty easy, the last portion of the tail pipe is simply fit in place and secured by a bolt in a mounting bracket further forward. That is also in the perfect place to redirect the exhaust. My concern is the amount of heat on the hoses and cables that run in the same area. How close can they be if I wrapped them in tape as you seem to have done?

How did you go from the horizontal pipe into the vertical pipe? Your pictures show that you welded a piece vertically first, but the horizontal seems to come in to the base of it in the finished product. Did you simply drill a 2" hole at the base and weld on some type of reciever?

What type of paint did you use?

My thinking is that on my tractor, the easiest and best place to add a stack is directly behind the loader arms.

There is a hole at the top of the loader bracket, and one at the bottom. I was going to use a piece of flat stock to run the length of the bracket and use the two holes. That would also give me something to add a bracket on to support the exhaust pipe further up. Do you think it's a good idea to add a second attachment point, or should it be able to move slightly independently of the tractor. I will use flex hose as you did.

Thanks Paul, keep up the incredible mods and thanks for taking the time to share them with us.

Thanks Ken. I'm really happy to hear you enjoy seeing some of the stuff that I do. I just hope i don't wear out my welcome here posting this stuff. I think your tractor is very doable when it comes to a vertical exhaust. You could do it very similar to the way I did mine. You'll need a 3" stack. A flex pipe. A way to bend pipe and you'll need some fabrications skills and it's really not that bad. start off by cutting the down pipe, build a collector box that will accept the stack and the engine exhaust pipe. Once you get the collector box mounted it's just a matter of mating it to the engine. make an allowance for water in the collector box by adding a drain hose. I had some concerns with the pipes being close to wiring and hoses and even went so far as to make additional guards but after spending the full winter using the design I realized there wasn't much heat because the fan keeps everything cool. Go back to my thread and read it a few times and understand what's going on and you'll get'er done. I'm sure of it.

Thanks for your kind words. Your Kioti will look awesome with a stack

Not sure if it was needed but it gives a little peace of mind knowing it's there ;)
