I am looking for info on Kubota's insurance for a new tractor purchase. I have found Kubota's policy to be much cheaper than my car/house insurance company, but I am wondering if anyone has had to deal with Kubota insurance for stolen/vandalized equipment. Any high deductibles, $$ limits or anything else I should know about before I sign??
Thanks in advance for your comments!!

ronbo3,
Welcome to TBN.....greatest forum for information on the web.
There have been numerous posts about Kubota's coverages. I'm not familiar with it myself, but you'll get plenty of replys soon.

Thank you ronjhall! That is a great thread with lots of advice. I see that I am not alone in the search for tractor insurance, and somehow that makes me feel better. What a mess insurance is---can't they write policies in plain English so buyers know and understand what they are buying?? My StateFarm agent wants about $250/yr, and Kubota insurance is less than half of that. If they are the same coverage, the choice is easy. Now all I have to do is find out who covers what, and when, and where!!

ronbo3,
I just went through the whole insurance thing....Only ONE salesman was up-front about the insurance question!!!! Your regular home owners policy DOES NOT meet the requirements for Kubota financing.Homeowners insurance DOES NOT cover rollover/collission.I elected not to listen to the ONE DEALER that explained it clearly to me because I was told by other dealers and other sources that "Homeowners will be all the insurance you need".....So now I will be paying State Farm $224/yr $0 deductable to cover my B7510 thats for fire/theft/rollover/collision etc.Insurance through Kubota would have been $689 for 60 months.!!!!! So after all this the answer is clear to me you either pay Kubota or your insurance company.But don't make the mistake of thinking your regular homeowners will cover everything that Kubota requires!!!GOOD LUCK /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny, it did in my case and in the case of others as well.

Well...as they say the proof is in the pudding.

My homeowners' insurance is also with State Farm. It was good enough for Kubota Credit Corp. when I financed my BX2200 last summer. Have not heard any complaints from Kubota yet.

My policy is an "all pearls" [is that how you spell it?] and if my shed would burn down and the tractors were distroyed, they would be replace in kind with new ones. [My agent just went through this with someone else recently, who had a CUT]. I would be out my deductable though. I don't expect that fire to happen, but you never know...

Now I can't take the tractor off my property, and it is only used for maintenance of the property. Cabledog, are you getting more for the dollar, like the ability to use your tractor for business or on property other than your own? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

i just got off the phone with my insurance agent. as long as the tractor is not used in any commercial uses...it falls under personal property just as a normal riding mower would.

Hi...

Kubota tractor insurance in part...

"LIMIT OF LIABILITY: Said policy covers loss or damage, not exceeding the lesser of:
1) The actual cost of repairing or, if necessary, replacing the equipment or parts thereof damaged or destroyed; or;
2) Actual cash value of the equipment or parts thereof lost, damaged or;
3) The retail cash selling price at the time of purchase."

"DEDUCTABLE CLAUSE: From each covered occurrence, $250.00 shall be deducted."

...note... there are things that are not covered...

Kemper Insurance issues the policy for Kubota... 800.348.5802.

Cabledog - I'm not sure what you dealer's expertise is in insurance but I know what mine is and I believe you have been misinformed. Of course before I could tell you what your policy covers, I'd have to see it. By the way, 60 months of Kubota insurance for $689 seems cheaper than 60 months of State Farm for $1120, however the State Farm policy MIGHT be replacement cost coverage. Many good homeowners policies/carriers will cover everything Kubota requires.
